Dumble Reboot, TOP meltdown imminent

Seems kinda dumb to me. How on earth did they get the rights to the name? New owners must have had deep pockets and whoever was running D's estate must've seen dollar signs. Dumble wanted the brand to die with him :idk
Meh. My recollection is that he likely left an estate that was in the red, or very close thereto. If the estate is able to pull enough cash out of this to cover its costs and maybe pay out an "we love him, but gawd why couldn't he have tried to reap at least a LITTLE bit of the money his name was generating" amount to the family while also putting the brand in hands of people that are actually archiving aspects of the brand and marking out a little bit of a market memory for the "clone of what?" issue, seems like a good thing for everybody, including the Ghost of Alexander?

Reenactment guitarists will have an amp that looks like a dumble, sounds as much like a dumble as anything else they could buy and has the right logo on it though.

Then they can use it at 0.3-0.5 on the volume with their Murphy Lab super aged most accurate ever les paul, master built strat and giant pedalboard full of vintage pedals to butcher the few riffs they actually know.

They'll also undoubtedly be out of tune. The pictures in their gear page posts will also be taken on a camera with a lens that's costs more than my prs.

I'm not jealous though....

I'm just bitter :grin

You definitely don’t sound remotely bitter lol.

I’m in the “the more the merrier” camp for guitarists. The more people that enjoy it and do it at whatever level and buy gear, the better for us all. Doesn’t have to be my kind of thing.

I used to think Dumble style amps weren’t my thing either. In the last year I’ve had to reconsider that, I may have been wrong at least for cleans and thick non-Marshall OD tones. I don’t have any plans to buy one of these new “dumble” amps though.

D

I honestly don't care ...just surprised it hasn't been posted yet.

Share your thoughts!!! Sure all will be civil!!!🤣
TOP were on this way before this thread , and no meltdown! :)

I doubt very highly that I will ever play a real Dumble but when I found the ODS 100 Clean in Axe FXIII, I felt like I had found my amp!! As far as I am concerned, it can do it all (at least all I need)!!!

I’ll add to this and just say that I thin Dumbles are THE most overhyped amps on the planet. I have played a couple, meh.
I have heard this from numerous sources myself.

One person I know actually said the one he played sounded like crap.

I'm not trying to trash anything, just that most over hyped stuff is just over hyped stuff....which is why I never gelled with anything Marshall.

But I have also experienced that different rigs respond differently to different players. Ones usable and awesome is almost definitely another's POS!

I would think building/offering 3 or so variations of the best examples (I know that’s relative) that represent each model (ODS, SSS, etc) would be a good strategy, if this happens.

I’d likely never buy one, but if you can get the build right, there is money to be made (at TGP 😂).
