Do Something - Season Three - Week FOUR (on the floor!)

Got a few hours in today and figured I might as well upload, because I won't get anymore jam time till next week...

I scrapped the first draft lyrics and reused the chorus hook on the verse part this time.. it changed the whole thing.. made it feel much more immediate. Way more agressive.

Also changed some drum stuff and mixy mixy tingys of course.

If anyone wants to get in on bonus colab points, I'd be down for someone putting a kickass solo over the parts after the 2nd chorus. I could even put the prechorus part back in there before the last chorus if your fellating.. I mean... ferocious solo needs a couple more bars :rawk

I don't know that your piece could handle my mind bending cowbell solo, but if you add maybe another 3 minutes for it, I could probably fit it in!! LMK ;~)) Oh, and good job as usual!!!

I think that solo fits really well! Congrats on a successful colab!! Not sure I like the hard stop after the solo, but not sure what I would do there either, maybe hold last note of solo and let it bleed into the drum track kicking back in ;~)) Just thinking out loud, hope you are not offended!

I don't think I like it either.. but I was a couple soda pops in and thought I was a good idea at the time

Sweet! Great jpob Gednts! I dig the break at the end of the solo. More dead silence in music, I say! It makes it dramatic. :beer :chef

EDIT: Changed title of song to "Let Love Be Our Song". Originally titled "Horror in Lahaina" but the new title is more reflective of the songs message.

Here is my seat of the pants offering for this week. I sure wish it was under different circumstances but it is what it is ;~(( As I was playing a set on August 10, 2023, the phrase "Horror In Lahaina" came to me. For those of you who do not know what Lahaina is, it is the town on the island of Maui that was destroyed by fire in the wee hours of Aug 9, 2023. When that phrase came to me, I stopped what I was playing and wrote this song. I then recorded it and here it is. I hope it helps some with the healing from this devastating event. Link, art and lyrics below! All positive vibes to the people of Hawaii and the dozens who have lost their lives and thousands who have lost many other things!!!
