Digital Igloo (Eric Klein, YGG)

@SASouth Okay, so if you want to continue to use Safari and not Firefox (or whatever) then you can make a custom CSS style sheet for Safari. i.e. create a file called "custom.css" somewhere. Then add this line to it:

Code:
div#ipsLayout_mainArea > div.cAnnouncementsContent { display: none };

Save the file and then go to Safari Preferences -> Advanced Tab -> Style sheet

And select your custom CSS style sheet to override website styles. That will have the same effect as the uBlock Origin rule. I've just tried it and it works.

Note: It's global and will be applied to all web sites that match that CSS selector, not just Line 6.

I am using 1Blocker which used to work. Recently a change happened that broke it. I’ve contacted 1Blocker to see if the have any input.

However, my point of my post was that even though there are ways to work around this ridiculousness I shouldn’t have to put up with bad design.

There is no reason at all for me to have to install vmWare to install an old version of MacOS Catalina so that Line 6 Monkey can find and offer the latest available firmware for my JTV-59.

It's even worse than that.

VMware, Virtual Box, etc won't run those old apps (x64 based Intel) on the current shipping Apple Silicon (e.g., M1) Macs, just the older Intel based Macs. This might change, but wasn't working for mere mortals when I looked into this a while back

@SASouth, 99.9% of Line 6's customers don't care one bit that Pocket POD is not being updated as it's a cheap outdated product for entry level players. I get you feel a bit entitled over your purchase long ago, but to think they should sink resources into updating it because one person came over to this forum just to pitch a bitch about it is just plain silly. Take it up directly with them and if they tell you to go pound sand, take that as your answer and move on. Nobody is making you buy their products and there are plenty of other options out there.

That said, can we move past this now as you've been rambling on for days now about this? This thread was actually fun to read before you came along and derailed it with your complaints.

Don't be an idiot, if that is at all possible. Way to sound like a fanboi. Since Digital Igloo is a Line 6 employee and the title of this thread is “Ask Me Anything” it is completely appropriate for me to bring issues such as these to this thread. It is a legitimate concern and should be addressed by Digital Igloo. Not you. One thing this thread should not be is an exercise for ass kissing you seem to want it to be.

My questions/comments were not directed to you. Piss off.

I did not know that. That does suck.

Alex from 1Blocker came up with a custom solution for me. That’s good customer service.

To be fair unless the pocket pod is one of the products that Digital Igloo is in charge of he's definitely not going to comment on it. This isn't an ass kissing comment either just stating a fact. He's never given any info to anyone at the other place re powercab updates and has just stated that project is run by someone else.

My goal was to get these issues in front of a Line 6 employee that may be in a position to foster change within their organization. The Pocket POD is just one example of their abandonment of support for a product they still offer for sale. Variax is another.

(From your signature it looks like you have issues of your own with Neural DSP.)

Well I'd say you've done that. I just wouldn't hold your breath for change on the pocket pod.

Lol no... well not anymore. I had a quad cortex not long after launch but sold it when I realised they weren't going to fix any of the issues or follow up on their promises in a reasonable timescale. My sig is a joke based on the thread from the recent neural dsp WiFi password debacle. I just like to watch the dumpster fire without jumping in myself.

That charming personality of yours is really going to help get you those answers you're looking for, but something tells me that you'll never figure that out.

Don't let me stop you from yelling at the clouds because it's pretty obvious from the silence that you've lost your shot at getting an answer here, not that this was even the place to ask since it doesn't sound like he ever worked on that. I'll just assume you're too lazy to have read the entire thread and you're too dim to have figured it out on your own yet.

Party on, Cowgirl.

Talk about a charming personality. That is certainly the pot calling the kettle black. No one asked for your opinion. Line 6 doesn’t need you to defend them.

I’m not in the habit of getting into pissing matches with online commandos like yourself who sit behind their keyboard and berate strangers on the Internet. Doesn’t it make you feel so superior and powerful?

I have a legitimate issue that I would like addressed by L6. You on the other hand do not matter to me one bit. So this will be my last reply to you. Savor it and welcome to the land of ignore. Idiot.

Then take it up with Line 6 directly, hotshot! Last I checked, they have a website with ways to contact them. You've just been in this thread for a week now going on and on about a $160 piece of entry-level gear you bought a decade ago and you've yet to get an answer, so take the hint and give it a f'n rest already.

Well I'd say you've done that. I just wouldn't hold your breath for change on the pocket pod.

I get it. I know I’m probably tilting at windmills. I just feel like someone should point out when the emperor has no clothes.

The Pocket POD is just an example. I was probably more frustrated by the unnecessary hoops I had to jump through just to update the firmware on my JTV-59 Variax. I am a current owner of a Helix, a Variax, and yes, a Pocket POD and in the past I’ve owned a POD-XT, A POD-XT Live, and a Variax 500, and so I do think that it does entitle me somewhat to make comments when I believe they aren’t doing right by their customers regardless of what some forum commandos seem to believe.

As just an observation and totally unrelated to your comment, I’ve noticed that even though this forum was started as an answer to the noxious environment of The Other Place there seems to be some of that noxious behavior migrating over here. If that’s the going to be the case, I’m out.

You should also be upset with mac compatibility.

Defenitely. In many cases, when these sorts of complaints are coming up, it's a lot about Apple, sometimes completely. They're breaking backwards compatibility all the time, sometimes without any technical reasons. The true masters of planned obsolescense.

The Pocket POD is just an example.

And you could still run the software to operate some aspects of it if you hadn't bought the wrong computer.
Had you bought or configured a Linux computer, would you be asking Line 6 to support that, too?

The thing about Helix that will be problematic in the long term is that utterly ridiculous joystick encoder. Prime candidate to go the moment support stops two weeks after the new version is released. In the UK I frequently have issues getting parts for older line6 products so such exclusive controls in the interface seem like built in obsolescence.
