Did You Have Posters On Your Walls?

s-l1600.jpg

Had the Kiss Destroyer poster on my wall from like 3rd to 11th grade. Plus countless others that came and went, but this one was the constant.

I had quite a few in my band room. Recently moved so haven't yet put them in the new place. Once remodeling and unpacking are done I'll get to it

- a huge KISS poster (may hang it again someday to cover dirty walls :facepalm )
- a smaller Pat Metheny concert poster
- poster for a friend's band
- some random tropic beach view without babes... :(

Greg Hill? Stu Thompson? Harry Leary? :idk
RIP Harry. RIP. Mine were all from about ‘87-‘91, so while I didn’t have any Stu Thompson pics on my walls I, I DID have a TOOOOON of Spike Jones’s early work on display before any of us had any idea who he would turn into.

Pistol Pete. Ron Wilkerson. Brian Blyther. Dave Voelker. Fuzzy Hall. Chris Moeller.

Nice! I went to a couple of Nationals between 1982-84. One Indoor and one Outdoor.

I dropped BMX and picked up a Guitar at 16 when I could also drive a car. I miss those
innocent days pedaling with friends.

Yeah...I did not give up the BMX bike until welllllll after '91, but did stop putting pics up on my walls from magazines. All that stuff that seemed impossible as a 12 year old became waaaaay more doable once I had a little bit of muscle to work with. Never really raced any -- lots of dirt jumping, street riding, and once I got my license regular forays to the neighboring city skatepark with 12' vert ramp.

Hence, the love of Mountain Biking/Bikes now?? :idk
Yeah. I worked at the local bike shop in high school and the owner was smart enough to recognize that the rug-rat middle school kids would get into whatever me and the guy I road with were into, so he gave us both mountain bikes which started that. Went to college in an Appalachian mountain town with lots of mountain bike trails and spent more time riding the mountain bike than BMX bike there. Grad school I was racing mountain and road bikes for a bike shop that had a BMX team and that got me back into the BMX bike a bit more...but mostly just shifted all the way back to skateboards because I couldn't keep up with what those dudes were doing on dirt jumps anymore. I rebuilt our town's skatepark during COVID and got the skateboard out for a bit, but took a hipper and was hobbling around for two weeks...which is pretty tough to do when you are Mr. Mom of a house with kids, so decided to put it away for good. Mostly just ride mountain bikes these days.

Wow. That's epic.... and really rad, @Boudoir Guitar . :beer

My friends and I would race against John Tomac (utterly humiliated!) at an outdoor track North of Lansing where
we all grew up. He was just a pure powerhouse at 15 and 16. No one could touch him. I was not shocked when
I found out later he went on to become a MTB World Champ.

I love cycling so much. I still feel like a kid when I get on them pedals. I even rode today. :banana

Yeah, I'm lucky to have a small ski hill with mountain trails around it 3 miles from my house -- going for a ride straight from the garage and back with no car is stiiiiiiiill the best!
