You become protective of your work and sometimes it’s threatened and you turn into a mama bear because you have to. Being douchey is well within the purview of anyone in that position as long as it’s not an ego thing.

I don't disagree. But also, forum mods are human. They're not special. They're as open to the emotional outbursts and foibles of human nature as the rest of us.

I cannot find anywhere where a user can delete their own account. Seems to me he was shadow banned, or just outright banned. Mods/Admin of course have the prerogative there, but the amount of shit that goes down here (most of it funny!) all the time... I find it hard to believe a butthole avatar was so beyond the pale that it warranted a ban.

It does seem to me like there's some omission here in the story being told. It doesn't make a lot of sense. Again... mods/admin prerogative. I'm not owed anything.




TBH, these comments don't paint you in a good light. You're new here, and you almost immediately started to antagonise people. I'm more or less fine with that; I can dish it, so I've gotta be able to take it. etc etc.

But implying that a ex-member is lonely and out of balance... I dunno man... that just makes you look like a proper arsehole to me.

I said that it seemed like it, it’s not a matter of fact. Purely based on how he switched from super friendly and joking around and then sending me PMs with all kinds of stuff I am not going to post here.

I am confident I handled that situation fine and I am also confident that how long I’ve been on a forum isn’t relevant. I have not been antagonizing people but that could have definitely been a perspective others see differently. Therefor I have also tried to make amends with Ilikeit in PM but that only made him more angry. Hence the off balance comment which was also shown by public behavior.

Edit: also, I have been asked to let this rest after that incident. And I promised I would. So even this was a bit of a slippery slope and will not comment about this any longer.

Just my perspective from that original thread, he definitely overreacted based on what I was reading. You being a newer member then, it's expected that a bit of the local humor could get taken the wrong way -- but your reactions were not out of line imo.

You never know if someone is dealing with some heavy shit IRL, my general approach has always been to cut a guy some slack and maybe give him some space if he’s a regular, known member who is suddenly acting differently.

Definitely. I remember him making some off-hand comments before all of that which seemed to suggest some personal family issues were happening. I hope all is well with him, he genuinely seemed like a nice dude that just wanted to enjoy playing music again.

That's very different than this dude Shredder, who was just a tool, as well as a couple people still here that currently are just dickish on a nearly daily basis. But, either put em on ignore, or just manually ignore them.

I can respect that. I've been on forums and discussion groups for decades so I've suffered plenty of fools. It takes a special kind to make me hit that ignore button. I have 4(!) people on it here and I don't remember ever hitting it anywhere else. I suspect I've become less tolerant but I'm currently okay with that.
