Watched this last night. Dude is so GD zen it's not even funny. Despite the background synth wash occassionaly overtaking things; I really enjoyed it.

Most of us have a quartet of voices inside our head, or some have the traditional Good Vs.,
Evil duet. Dev has mother fucking symphonies in there.

Man, I think I’ve listened to all his podcasts 2-3x each now and I’m really stoked for this to continue in a more consistent way.

Also, he discusses this ‘spaceship’ he built where he’s going to demo gear in for everyone. Essentially all the companies he works with try getting him to promote the stuff and it’s not really his thing, so he’s just going to take the gear, jam on it and show us how he’s using it instead of just saying “I like this because it’s good”

I don’t love everything he does, but the stuff I love I’ll open up a vein for.

I wish he would let his humor fly a bit more like the GW series. His podcasts on the albums were much more serious than I expected from him. Not in a bad way but dude definitely meditates

Yeah, that’s probably largely due to gear being inanimate objects and those albums being tied heavily to stages of his life that most people wouldn’t want to share with the world. I mean, the dude admitted to locking himself in his basement and doing nothing but watching porn and jerking off for days while ignoring his family, it’s probably hard to voice something like that with a humorous take and not come off as a complete asshole. If I remember right, every album had something like that, like when he started wearing all white and saying weird ass prophetic shit to his family.

I know what you’re sayin’ though, it’s like a 180 in personalities and could make the podcasts more entertaining than they are documentary-like. But if he hasn’t said it already, I’d have no doubt that he doesn’t feel they’re even worth making unless he truly explains the situation for what it was at the time. I’d expect to see a bit of a change moving forward since we hit sober, “Oh, I’m actually not crazy” Dev era, but who knows.
