How low is the latency?
I would guess that it is variable depending on what you are asking it to run, but it is very interesting that nothing has been said about it.

It’s kind of artificially “just for bassists” though. There’s nothing about NAM that says “this is just for guitarists” or “this is just for bassists”. The technology captures what it captures, that’s it.Damn. Yet another amp modeling multi fx unit for bass players. When will someone make a guitar focused multi fx unit?!
Seriously though, years of "bass really only needs a DI" and then a SINGLE FRIGGING BASS FOCUSED UNIT is released and guitarists can't stop complaining that it's not for them![]()
Exactly my point...It’s kind of artificially “just for bassists” though. There’s nothing about NAM that says “this is just for guitarists” or “this is just for bassists”. The technology captures what it captures, that’s it.
But all the fx are tuned to work with bass. Doesn't mean you can't use them for guitar, but that's really what makes it a bass product. It’s kind of artificially “just for bassists” though. Yeah but you’re paying for a whole unit that’s loaded with bass effects and cabs. I guess if you’re ok with spending $1000 to ignore everything the unit does and only use nam then yeah I doubt it makes much of a difference on the instrument. You’d wanna be a pretty dedicated enthusiast to be in that cohort though. It’s kind of artificially “just for bassists” though. It's pretty obvious they rushed it out the door (not sure why that is - yet) & while it is a step in the right direction, it'll be a good while until it's a unit most gear-heads would like to spend their $$ on.Yeah but you’re paying for a whole unit that’s loaded with bass effects and cabs. MIDI is apparently under development, but it's been under development on the Quad Cortex for years nowIt's pretty obvious they rushed it out the door (not sure why that is - yet) & while it is a step in the right direction, it'll be a good while until it's a unit most gear-heads would like to spend their $$ on.

Yup, I realize that. And that's what makes it a stupid product, by their own design. Notice how there's no "Bass Kemper", "Bass Helix"? It's because artificially limiting a $1000 device to one instrument is profoundly stupid.Yeah but you’re paying for a whole unit that’s loaded with bass effects and cabs. Time will tell if it's stupid. The product will fail if it is. Bass is very much an afterthought for most modeling multi fx units, so maybe Darkglass sees a potential market there? Besides, I'm sure these bass oriented effects are just fine for guitar, like guitar oriented effects are for bass. Guitarists can get by with them if they want a powerful NAM loader in a sleek package.Yup, I realize that. And that's what makes it a stupid product, by their own design. This is a true game changer! Aimed at Bass players but will mostly be used by guitar players world wide!
Yes, Fractal is manufactured in China.Made in Finland, nice. Are Neural and Darkglass the only companies not making their modelers in China/other cheap labor countries? I think Fractal moved production to China as well? Edit: Kemper is probably made in Germany.
Oh, and it's nearly a third of the depth of the FM3. What about heat management??!?
The presentation as a Bass unit is strange tbh…it’s only the software part that determines that, and why choke your hardware into one category? Maybe a condition during the sell of the company to korg?…that they would not be direct competitors to NDSP, and it’s a legal bypass by presenting it as a bass unit?..speculation![]()
