Clipping wireless ?

I bought a lekato wireless 5.8ghz after reading great reviews. It did solve a small issue I had sometimes with interference.

When i switched to the synergy i found it very hard to get a clean signal, constant clipping on the neck and bridge humbuckers.

Volume back helps so i just blamed that
After installing the engl power amp i heard it on all settings. To my surprise when i switched to the cable it was crystal clear. No clipping.

It seems to only happen with high output pickups. Seeing i can't change the level i mailed lekato for help.

Anyone else this problem ?

I returned them for that reason

sounds like my problem
With a strat no problem. Jem 7v neck and bridge clips on anything over 70%. But they are hot indeed.

Hope they will respond with a solution or money back. Probably not.

Pretty common among cheaper units. I tried a handful of them from Amazon and they all clipped Fishman moderns and EMG 909/909X pickups. I was looking at one of those CFG 5.8GHz ones but they actually publish their specs and the max input is like 400mv lower than EMG max output. The Swiff brand one was clipping so hard sound was cutting out.

Is this a common problem? I’ve been eying up a Shure GLX for a while, but I’m wondering if it’ll handle my HFS and Invader humbuckers now.

I don’t think the “real” stuff will have a problem. My Sennheiser XSW system has no issues, neither did my previous line 6. I’m not really sure why the cheaper brands have this issue other than cheaper parts have less headroom. But it does seem odd to me to that they can just as easily find the output specifics of any pickup as I can and they don’t account for it.

Do you use high powered pickups like black outs and evolutions ?

Also my jem with PAFs and a build in booster clips.

Lower output pups indeed no problem.

The lekato WS-50 was specially bad - I measured -3.7dBu max input - that's awfully low.

The Xvive A58 was a bit better with 2.24 dBu but also has a input pad mode that accommodates about 11dBu - the caveat is that you have to make up the gain after the receiver.

I got the Nux C-5RC 5.8Ghz a few weeks ago, working AND sounding way better than the Lekato. Was able to reduce my QC input and works on every guitar without issue. Actives, passives, preamps and even passive EMG's with an eq circuit.

Only downside is that with them being rather small, you have to charge more often. Has a nice charging case though.

I have that issue with the Lekato on my bass. My guitars have less dynamic range and less output with no active electronics except for my 7 string, which is an Ibanez S-shape so those output cavities don't support most wireless dongles anyhow
:bonk

My Line 6 G10 doesn't break a sweat
