CHASE BLISS BROTHERS AM

I love the idea of brothers. Recently, I lost my brother. This pedal will always remind me of him.

Received my Brothers AM a few days ago. Sent it back today.
Way too much treble for my ears and drains the bass.
For what I want, it was a disappointment.
If you like a lot of treble, this may be the pedal for you.
The hype hooked me and now I'm free.

Interesting since the Duke, Prince and King are often criticized for lacking treble, in large part because the internal treble trim pot comes set to minimum by default, but also because they really are not super bright circuits. They do roll off bass though, by design.

Very positive first impressions! Sounds absolutely...

Two stackable KOT gain circuits with an optional treble booster (with 2 different voice settings) in between.

Without using any external controls, the pedal provides 2 presets plus the "live" pedal (current knob, switch, toggle settings).

This is going to be fun.

Nice. I have dual dukes on my mini board and dual princes plus a Beano on the new big one otherwise I might have bought one of these.

How do you like to set your Dukes? I can't get a sound I like out of mine.

I set them a lot of different ways. Usually the first one is set as OD with a lower level and the second one as boost with a higher level. That allows the first to do a dirty rhythm and the second to be a solo boost for either clean or dirty. I usually run the second or both at 18 volts and they sound best into a slightly dirty/edge amp playing somewhat loud.

Are you running them into a clean amp?

I’m still on the fence with this one…

I think it would be exactly the tones I want, but I HATE all the toggles and DIP switches. And I really wish pedal companies would stop this stupid trend of putting two footswitches side by side on pedals this size. It’s the most annoying thing in the world trying to hit the right one live in the heat of battle. I’m about to take a hacksaw to the second switch on my Rattle

Usually barely clean, so if I hit the pedals the amp is also adding a little compression/dirt. They work into a totally clean amp, especially with a little volume, but I don't like them as much into a totally clean amp at low levels. I would rather turn the amp up a bit and use attenuation.

Okay I checked the internal presence trim pot of mine, I think it was turned all the way down. I adjusted it to the middle and it seems to sound way better, now I actually can hear some overtones. That might be a game changer lol, off to mess around with it now!

Oh, yeah I forgot about that but the internal trim pot is a treble/presence control that I think is all the way down by default on Kings, Princes, and Dukes. Definitely adjust to taste in conjunction with the tone control on top as it can make a big difference. I like it down with a brighter Fender style amp but higher with something like a bass circuit NMV Marshall or a Tweed Bassman, all depending on speakers!

The Prince also has internal dip switches for a little extra low end ("low-mid" per Mike) and a little extra compression ("Turbo") at higher gain, but I don't think the Dukes or Kings have those.
