Happy to report the Shijie arrived today, and it’s amazing!

Full review with pics tomorrow.

It’s definitely NOT a Sire, and on par with any boutiques. I’m guessing the ones Eagle has worked on weren’t the “high end” Shijie models.

Or, perhaps I just got lucky?

Been very busy, but here are some crummy pics:

Before I post a thorough review, I have to change the string gauge. It came with 10-46 on; that string tension is crippling to me.

I’m gonna tune it to Eb, and use Yngwie Malmsteen’s gauges of strings—
008/011/014/022/032/046

So, will post an actual “how does it play” review then.

As far as craftsmanship, it appears to be equal to any boutique I’ve owned (max prices of $4k).

It’s very resonant, light, stays in tune, but cut perfectly, no finish or construction flaws.

The heel could have been more ergonomic, but that’s my only complaint thus far.
