BEST 3 PEDALS OF 2022?

Man that was confusing, because the H90 and LVX look _very_ similar from a distance. I was thinking, "wait! there's only 2 pedals!".

For anybody that has their browser automatically blocking Facebook properties (mine does), I took a screenshot for those that can't see Brockstar's embedded link:

I don’t think any of the pedals I bought this year were new for 2022, but I think the Germanium Dover Drive with a black finish was new this year and that thing is like early 90’s EJ lead tone in a box so I’m gonna go with that, regardless that it was made with a white box previously.

I bought only a few Strymons so for me, Zelzah and Compadre.

What do you think of the Zelzah? Ive been curious what the general opinion of it is now that the dust has settled since release.

I had been considering buying it for a long time, was hoping to find it used. A local store was selling one for a good price on Black Friday so I finally bit the bullet.

It's really good! It's not the pedal for people who want "this is a chorus, this is a phaser" type preset effects, it's a "uh...this is something between a flanger and chorus" where it gets a bit hard to say what it is but it sounds real good.

I think it being billed as a phaser is quite deceptive because in reality it's a multi-modulation playground. Like the Nightsky, it's definitely not a "turn it on and you are done" pedal, it has a learning curve.

Both sides can do a lot. There's phaser, flanger and chorus on the 6-stage side by varying the knobs and switch, especially the voice. There are some settings on the near max voice knob settings where it gets kind of "seasick" sounding wobble but a few tweaks can tame that to a rather lush chorus sound.

The 4-stage side offers phaser, vibrato and autowah type effects. You can control how "phasery" the autowah sounds and the vibrato can be made to be almost tremolo-ish.

As always, Strymon's in-depth videos on YT are well worth a watch to see Walter White Pete Celi himself explain it.

First the Guitar Nerds vote the LVX as one of their best new products of the year (with the H90 being a close runner-up), and now this. Definitely has me GASing for the LVX, though I don't REMOTELY need it. JFC, my El Cap hasn't even showed up in teh mail yet.

You definitely need it ;)

H90 is a standout for me.

I got a lot of use out of the Crazy Tube Circuits Super Conductor on my drive board. They're doing some really great stuff over in Greece.

PastFx Elastic Mattress really hot the spot for it's sweet modulation tones AND the name 😂
