I haven't bought anything through ebay in over 15 years. Is it a reliable source for used MI gear? I got turned off of it because of the many scams and poor customer service. Is it safer now?

I prefer Reverb, but bought my Fernandes bass, limited edition Warbeast and several other things off eBay in the last year or two. Including the broken Barney that I returned for a full refund.
