I could jam with that dude,
I’d prefer him standing up bringing all that destruction.
Don’t know if this has been post edited for our viewing pleasures.., everything is tho’ right?
(Bastards💯)

The cool thing with the Lynx is it has that kinda’ weird thing going on with the feel & response &
that artifact on the upper mid bottom of the top-end lends itself to mega-low tunings with a certain
“taunt-ness”..filtering?
This “artifact” reminds me of
oatmeal on the edge of the bowl….raisins FTW.

I’d go V-30 X Redback & never return home🖕🏽
I’ll get on some Lynx🤘🏻
Here is a reamp with Tonex.

No post processing other than some master bus compression.

Hi,

Could you please explain how to download/use your product please ?

  1. I've followed the link here: https://www.tone.net/tonex/collections/live.ready.sound/mad.kat.v2
  2. I've logged into my IK account and purchased the Mad Kat V2 product
  3. I've received an email confirmation with activation number
  4. I've run the IK Product Manager to authorize your products
  5. Where can I see the captures?
This is so much easier with Amalgam Audio...

Thanks for any help, written instructions would be awesome.

Thanks for the purchase! Glad you found the download.

Interesting amp. I’d love to spend time with some of the bad cat stuff. There were a number of tones that sound good there - that top end sizzle gets a little grainy on the mid gain stuff and might eventually drive me out of my mind.

EXACTLY!
Believe in “tocic tones”, there’s something
about the bass, midrange, treble vibes..
The first word that comes from experience owning 3 different variations of this amp and other BC’s ( new production),
Milky coating over the mid/reble blend.
The inherent sound also becomes..annoying.
You’ll take a bloodbath upon resale.
You can blame the YT’er up top for that decision
unless you use his exact IR’s and software/editing rig.

Posting this here, just because it's quite a new amp and IMO sort of hard to get a grasp of exactly what to expect from it. IMO it's in the same sort of territory of a Rectifier or an Uberschall - quite bassy with a raw top end. I dont think the low end gets quite as massive as either of those amps but I think it's in the same family (looser than a 5150). Crunch channel can do some nice JCM800 style sounds. Does the nu-metalz/buttrock all day long

That did sound very Recto'y but it's own thing. Will be hard to not grab one when I see it for the right price. The combos are cheap but I really don't have room for it.

It’s the closest comparison I can think of but it’s definitely its own thing. I guess there’s a lot of situations where you might reach for a recto and the Lynx would work too

Crap!! Brand new for $1499 free shipping and no tax. Store looks legit best I can tell from my Google searches.

I bought one for this price "new" from Pitbull Audio on Reverb and it was a horrible experience. Definitely call and verify it isn't a customer return.

When it arrived the chassis was moving freely in the headshell. Nothing wild, maybe an inch or so I could move it back and forth but yeah, no thanks.

Plugged it in, sounded OK. Keep in mind I play high gain metal and use an Uber Ultra but this amp could definitely not get me there despite the few videos I watched.

With an EQ in the loop it did get me there. Got it sounding great however the feel was just non existent. I cant verify if any damage was done due to the drop but this amp was not moving any air whatsoever for me.

Off topic somewhat but the return was a major pain in the ass. Pitbull is apparently an authorized dealer and felt the need to involve bad cat even though I didnt buy it from bad cat. Had many back and forth with pitbull, reverb, badcat and it was just annoying. The reason I mentioned all of this is during the convo with badcat they told me themselves that this was not a one off issue. They've had several returns with this exact situation and we're able to replicate this themselves by dropping the amp.

Now of course nobody should be dropping their amps to test durability but if you drop a Bad Cat Lynx? Yikes

Edit: I truly do not think the amp being dropped changed any values or broke any components but I can't say for sure, I did not open it up to check but im telling you guys there is zero feel to this amp. Would be curious to hear others opinion on the feel of this amp.

If I buy a tube amp I want to feel it. If I wanted to spend $1,500 on a tone that could sound great after a lot of tweaking and adding external devices with no feel I would buy the QC mini.
