RE: amps

Cranked my VII through my 412 for a good long bit this morning. The VII is so goddamned goldilocks as it this 412 with. I have never flip flopped so goddamn much over a piece of gear I've owned! I ended up rolling back to the FM9 which is what I love jamming through in my room. I started gassing for some floor monitors so I could do the modeling thing while still peeling my face off from time to time :satan

A Lynx would be awesome but I fear it would end up right in the same place as the VII is. LOVE it one day, scratch my head the next, never gig it out.

So much wishy-wash up in this mufukka :rofl

I keep the MKV around for a different reason, I suppose----it does the chugga chugga thing, and then a dozen other things
I absolutely love. :love

I actually want to snag a couple of other cab configurations for different setups. Cabs/speakers are MASSIVE when it comes
to trying to cop those different vibes/feels/tones in the amp.

And yeah, I am Fractal damn near 75-80% of the time at home. It just sounds too good, and is too easy to use. I swear I
can't get a bad sound out of it. I mean, I can make bad sounds, but that's on me.

If not for the 2 wk old KSR right over my shoulder I would have 100% snatched it in a heartbeat. I'm still itching to do it but my wife would kill me. Our place is too small for me to hide adult heads. :grin
Not sure my wife would be onboard either....
But it's the only amp I've gassed for in a long while.

Nice! :beer

Had a D60 once upon a time. It was nice, but really needed to be ungodly loud to deliver the
goods. No idea how Mr. Fryette is not completely deaf by now, since he loves to play Telecasters
into Hiwatt style amps. :brick

Of course, that can be said of a lot of amps, can't it? :idk

Would love to try a Sig X someday. I don't really have anything super dry and tight at the moment.

super dry and tight

Speaking of Fryette, hands down the driest and tightest amp I've personally been able to spend decent time with. I'd played enough 1x12 combos to know it had nothing to do with the format. I'm not sure I've sent an amp back faster.

Sweet! :love

Man, I wish I would have bought some early VHT/Fryette before the pandemic. Used to
see a bunch of them in the $500-$800 range. Now it is challenging to see anything
for sale from that time period. If you do it is all $2500+ it seems.

Haha! I'd prefer to think of it is a friendly reminder, rather than an overly aggressive manhandling. :hugitout

Did Badcat do away with the whole EF86 into 2 x EL34 thing? That was the shiznit!
