Atomic Tonocracy (Inc NAM support)

This was discussed above. Nobody, not even Atomic, disagrees with that and Tom said they will make the terms clearer. Horse is quite dead now ;)
You’ve said this a couple times.

Tom commented on the username / email address part, not sharing of profiles / captures.

I have no dog in this fight as I have no interest in this product (Fractal meets all my needs), but as already mentioned this seems at best a poorly handled product release and at worst as some sketchy BS.

"I'm very proud to be part of this team"

Does that not imply some kind of stake / ownership or on the payroll?
I really don't care either way but it seems like he's part of this project and you're suggesting otherwise, do you know his involvement?
I know he was on the beta, came after me and I had a conversation that if he's part of the company im gonna leave.
I also pointed out that there was gonna be a backlash.
But I'm still here. Does that answer it?

So he was basically a beta tester and a talking head for Atomic. His announcement video implied that his involvement was more than that. So yeah, basically a shill. Not surprised.

I know you probably have good intentions but man this becomes more confusing at every step.

- You're heavily implying that he's not part of the company/team
- 1 day ago he releases a video "Time to reveal my secret"
- This video is the first video on the official Tonocrocy site
- We also see this top comment where he says he's part of the team.... and a response from someone else saying they're happy to be on the team with him

He's either still part of the team and you're splitting hairs with wording on ownership/team
Or he's come and gone from the project for some reason but actively implies that he's still part of it?

Once again I have no real care for it but when something doesn't easily add up we're going to start asking questions and wonder what's actually going on. Probably would have been simpler to just NOT say that he's not part of it anymore, but you have so here we are.

I'm not splitting FA. As far as I know he neither owns it works a part of this.
And how is it different him blabbing about it then say me. Or plini blabbing about NDsp.

Also the shill thing...a shill is someone that pretends no affiliation and talks the stuff up..

And where have i implit he's gone. What I'm saying is the day he's part of the company for real I'm gone. I'm not gone yet. That's not so hard to understand

Beta testing “team?”
Alright tell you what i been a Atomic artist for over a decade and when i retired Amplifire for UAFX and then Tonex Tom asked what I liked better.
I told him and he came back involving me in his new app from alpha.

Seeing that Chapman (no matter what I think of him) and Tom go back a long time to sell Amplifire in the UK there seems to be zero conspiracy or controversy here.

But hey I'm no fan of his.
Heck i left endorsements for less.

But this whole conversation has becoming about data mining and co-op ring captures.

My 2 cents...you use your email addy as user name then we'll...come on.
The uploading thing of 20 free captures? I can safely say if i don't know how you capture already i likely will never dl those.

But again my approach may very well be different.

Hi all!

Like @hunter I've had the awesome opportunity to be on the testing team for Tonocracy.
I've been using Fractal for the last 7 years so tonal expectations were high! The app didn't disappoint & it's pretty satisfying having everything I need in one place. It didn't take long to get descent tones and while testing I didn't feel the urge to switch to the Fractal for my day to day playing and work.

The UI is stripped back & clean with just enough going on. I love having everything in my own cloud library I can organize freely and the option to download captures out of the box is rad. The NAM integration had me test some real nice tones but I stick to the stock amps as they are on par with what I'm used to with Fractal. A stock cab list from ML Sound Lab is icing on the cake too!

Here's a video I got together to showcase the Tonocracy features so there's a bit of bite with all the bark!

Gotta say that's a pretty strange video for promoting a guitar amp plugin.

Regarding promotional material;
I like when companies introduce new products with an official video with their own presenter and lay out all the new features of the product calmly and professionally, then demonstrate the product thoroughly with along with playing.
Leaving everything to shills and youtubers is lazy, boring, annoying and fake, I'm done with that.

i’m suspicious of beta testers flooding in to sing its praises when the product simply hasn’t been rigorously tested enough. They’re in a position where they won’t be able to say what they really think, especially if issues they raised in testing weren’t resolved prior to release.

If you didn’t spend your own money on the product, your experience isn’t that of a customer

Strange?
Thought I did an okay job to get that together in a short time and briefly show what the plugin can do.

Bit disheartening but but ah well, just have to keep working on it all!

Well, there's not much guitars to be heard in that video, let alone clearly (apart from the lead lines, which, these days at least, are just standard).

Don't want to come across offensive or anything, but in case someone's presenting a guitar amp (of whatever sorts), I want to hear that amp loud'n'proud, at least kinda.

Don't get disheartened or take criticism personally, we do a lot of busting balls and shooting straight here.

PS.
Sascha is out local naysayer, we love this ugly fish as he is.

Honestly, I do really appreciate the feedback. Saying it's strange didn't really give anything away but more details softens the blow completely & I'll take a different approach if I do a video like this in the future.
Experience gained means there's nothing to feel bummed about!

...
It seems like oversight to me too, that is my assumption. But that’s an assumption, and it’s also something that can be subject to change. Why assume trust with any company? especially one that doesn’t trust potential customers?
A civilized and just practice is to not assign guilt without proof. To open with respect and then withdraw it if you find cause.
In this case you say 'it seems like an oversight' but you react like you know they intended to run a con on unwary customers!

How do you support your assertion that 'the company doesn't trust potential customers' without your claiming to assume it was simply oversight is really just posturing on your part?
How can the reader trust you are being forthright?
At best you come off as a bit paranoid and at worst you are taking out some form of vendetta and trying to prop up an excuse as cover.

ilok is a great solution used by many guitar amp sim products. They use this already.

On top of this, they limit how many models you can use and put bursts of silence on top. A bit excessive given they’re paying for PACE/iLok’s services, but ok.

On top of that, they decide to keep any models you create when you’re basically just trying to get a feel for the software. I didn’t download it to bolster their online library - I want to test how well it runs on my computer, if I like the workflow, if the quality is good, if I think it’s worth the money. Before I know anything, I’ve given them content for free.

Trust has to work 2 ways. The line I’m being fed is “trust us, it’s an honest mistake, we’ll add this, we’ll fix this, we’ll improve this”.

I’ve spent tons of money over the years on various plugins and HW modellers and capture devices. You can spot the companies that are winging it a mile off. I want this product to succeed and do things the right way but aside from a load of beta testers telling me how they’ll come good, I don’t really have much reason to have any faith.

I don’t think there’s any conspiracy - I just plainly think they don’t know what they are doing and it’s a gigantic mess that I wouldn’t spend my own money on in the current state.

Mr Jones, I thought you had Enchilled your Enchilada? Obviously not.
At best, you seem to be picking petty fights and arguing with people... at worst... you are coming across as a not very chilled enchilada.

This isn't something annoying but fairly innoucuous, like software calling home to validate a license for example. Which I totally get why people hate that kind of stuff.

But keeping any profiles you make with the demo, and not even informing you about it? This is actual digital theft - it is piracy. Which is incredibly ironic.
