Atomic Tonocracy (Inc NAM support)

I would immediately uninstall every single amp modeller from my system apart from Helix Native, if I had a Fractal Native to go with it.

Am I starting to sound like a fucking fanboi yet?? Hope so!
They had it ready to go a decade ago but didnt want it ripped off.

Having owned a THD Hot Plate, I think it did a fine job of sending me to the competition. 😁

Atomic and Fryette have been the hardest to reach manufacturers for me. I've liked products from both when they work, but don't have a whole lot of interest in buying anything from either in the future.
Yeah, Fryette is pretty bad too, which makes me apprehensive of ever buying a PS-2. As good as it is, if there's a problem can I reach them? It's the one time I wish someone would rip a company off for an idea :rofl

I have the full paid for version. I made 3 captures of my Friedman Little Sister. I don't see how to save them to share for public consumption. Anyone know how to do it?

Nevermind, just found it, right click and Publish. Just discovered the Cloud so I have to go explore that rabbit hole now lol...

Hi Enchilada, Thanks for upgrading to the full version! Sharing captures is easy - right click on the capture name in the library and select publish. Then sync and you should be all set. An icon will appear next to the capture name immediately following. Looking forward to checking out your captures!

I need to double check if the auto sync is in this release or the next but it won't hurt anything.

The best advice for Atomic Amps, and Tom, is beware of the 'yes men'.
Obviously, you are aiming to improve the product, and that deserves praise, but you are only doing that based on people who have delivered constructive criticism. Clearly, you are not doing this based on people you've given free NFRs to, who are here in this forum 'fluffing' and 'licking' and literally sounding like they've been paid to be shilling your products.

I’m trying to decipher what this means……should Tom take non-constructive criticism to develop his products? Would it be better suited for him to take stuff like “stupid product your company sucks” as ‘advice’?

I have a really hard time reasoning the idea that Ed is a shill. That dude is more likely to shove $150 up someone’s ass for assuming he can be bought out, then continuing the use the gear while telling everyone the company is run by an asshole. I don’t share the same opinions on everything as Ed, but I’ve known him since the HRI days nearly 20 years ago and that dude doesn’t pull punches.

Thats close to fighting words…
I said what my affilliation is. Shill means somebody pretending not to have a connection trying to sway folks.

Yes men…hilarity. I spent more time sending folks to the competition while VP at THD Electronics than pitching them but yet im one of the shills because i interject in a topic in a forum i posted prior to this product?

I show you shill…
I have nothing to do with atomic or tonocracy but i dl the demo and did this…

Atma Anur Old Number 7

No i did this with an early beta with a capture of a 2525.
So i actually use this on my actual work project you wanna discount it because my input in creating this thing netted me a license go ahead.

Would you rather have a flood of paid YouTube guys telling you its amazing?

And does this look like a yes man?

LOVE that piece of music!

I don't think anyone is calling Ed or any of the Beta testers a shill... a shill (in my books) is when the product sucks, the person promoting it knows it sucks but they're getting paid or reimbursed to say its great (thats not whats happening here imo)

On the flip side if I started up a plugin and had a bunch of guys along for the journey for feedback/testing its just a different journey to a customer looking at that product and going "in the grand scheme of life is this worth the money"? As customers we don't see the thousands of decisions that were made, how much better it is today than 6 months ago, all the hurdles that were overcome etc etc... all we see is the finished product in its current form and judge that against other finished products on sale atm. This is where (imo) the skewed eyes of a beta tester promoting the product comes into play. From their point of view they've had comms with the company, obviously the plugin is "free" (yes I know they spent 10's/100's of hours on feedback and testing so im not hung up on not paying for the product. But its almost like a pet project at that point and not an off the shelf paid for product like we see things. There's cognitive bias at play and that's ok we're all human).

The beta testers who've commented on here have almost done a much better job of advertising and explaining the product better than Atomics website so I think it's been a net good, it's just that we have to take their mileage with a grain of salt and I think that's totally fair.

I will say something that really irked me is that there's been a bunch of beta testers on here and TGP commenting on the threads and didn't initially disclose that they were beta testers. It was easy to spot because everyone was asking questions and then a bunch of random guys had all this info that noone else did, and had to be asked if they were beta testers.... they didn't lie about anything and once asked they instantly replied with a yes, but drip feeding this kind of critical information is just "another" aspect of this entirely weirdly launched product. I don't doubt the sonics are great from Tonocracy but I have no shortage of amp sims so they were always going to fight for everyone's lunch money. Between the odd launch, the history of the company and people involved, the way everyone keeps saying "trust me things will come" im just at a point where im like..... ok you need me more than I need you so I'll keep an eye on the app and if theres a bunch of updates and things are in a better place I'll have another look at picking it up later. It's not a completely negative thing, I don't dislike Atomic or Tonocracy but my gut tells me to just wait and see (especially for $150/$300usd).... and if the beta testers and Atomic can't see merit to this then that circles back to what was said about being around "yes" men and taking actual feedback on board.

A few fine folks have done some fantastic 'post-release' beta testing here and elsewhere, and Atomic can make meaningful changes as a result of that. Perhaps a last minute attempt to steer the ship away from the rocks.
This is important for the company to succeed in this currently climate. Preferably, beta testing is to be done in the beta testing stage, not after, really, but 'beta late than never'.
Apologies for sounding harsh, but, there is no need to defend something just because you are a beta tester. In that position you should be double checking and confirming the issues... not doubling down.

I’ve had a Kemper twice, Quad Cortex once and still have TONEX. With all of those I made three captures, one with each device and wasn’t happy with any of them.
This morning I decided, spur of the moment, to try a capture with Tonocracy. Before my first cup of coffee was half gone I had three captures that sound good. Makes me want to do more.

they certainly need to fill in a lot of holes in the overall package if they want to be the new leader in the market but the great sound and ease of capturing really make me optimistic about the future.

How do you capture the whole enchilada at before-coffee volume levels?!?

Well no they havent. They shared opinions on the beta mostly related to thinks i/we as beta testers using the full version didnt encounter.

For example my login name is the same as on forums Ed DeGenaro so no email addy is shared, etc…

As i mentioned i was one of the earliest testers and i couldnt initially figure out how to built a parallel path. So yes a manual is needed but hey this could also be answered by someone who runs the full version and has it sorted.

Ive seen this “the end user does such a better beta” on a bunch of software im beta and/or customer. Every time a new Cubendo release comes this is the outcry.

Things fall between the cracks. Simply put why are there hardware boxes that for over a decade kee getting realer every month?
Again…it washes whiter…
