Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989 is burned into my memory. As young as I was, I can still remember the cement rising and falling like waves in my own backyard.

That said, we have most large furniture items bolted into studs.

We moved out here in 1997 and have only experienced some decent enough shakes to cause a top heavy rack to maybe fall.

I was watching the World Series pre-game on the tube when that one hit in 89 and then was glued to all of the coverage afterwards.

I was about 3. My father was caught in the traffic that lead up to the upper deck on the bay bridge that collapsed. I remember my mother glued to all of the coverage after, not knowing if my dad was alive or not. After traffic got rerouted he found a phone and called us. It's one of my earliest memories.
