Anyone else getting sick of GAS?

My finances ( or lack of) are effectively keeping my GAS under control right now.
I've never gone down the modeling rabbit hole. Mainly because to be honest I haven't got the patience to spend hours tweaking and storing patches etc. So Kempers, Fractal etc have never been a GAS issue with me.
HOWEVER..........
I sold my 2006 SG Standard a few years back, and just lately been thinking of getting another one, but really, I can't justify forking out for another guitar. I have 13, play at home, haven't gigged for years.
Trouble is, buying new stuff becomes addictive. I just know that at some point I'll give in and just get another SG. 🤷

I successfully kicked the major GAS habit for 4+ years, maybe a little longer, but it has come back with the Stadium announcement. I realize a big part of my successfully muting GAS was Line 6's history of updating the Helix firmware. A time or two each year I'd have a few new things to play with and that kept the edge off. But something must have been building up inside me because last week's announcement gave me a major flare up. It's possible it will wane before the fall comes around and the Stadium trigger can be pulled.

As far as guitars and amps I'm feeling pretty content still. 2 nice strat clones and a nice tele clone feels like an embarrassment of riches to me, and ditto two decent quality low watt combo amps. I rarely use the amps simply because I don't have a need for much volume anymore (though I'm not above an occasional indulgence in that department).

With the return of GAS I suddenly feel more alive again. I think a little FOMO and longing can be part of a balanced life. I just need to keep it from consuming me.

There's a fine line between inspiration/having genuine fun and being consumed by GAS.

Sick? I just cured my GAS with more...

GAS!

Nice setup. I had an sg ( dual p90)and never could bond with it as it was always neck diving my on me. I do like the single p90 version but wonder if it will neck dive as well..
No neck dive with mine, I’m sure the Vibrola helps and the neck is thin too.

Now my GAS is focused on consolidation and simplification of the various tracks/in-ear setups I’m using. I REALLY want to be able to have everything ready to rock before the drummer is done adjusting his pedals. Looking at this Idoru backing track player or figuring out how to rack the laptop. Guitar gear for me is now figuring out the smallest, fewest number of pieces that do the job live. There are endless possibilities for recording at this point.
