Just curious if anyone is a P90 Purveyor of Par Excellence. Recommendations? Suggestions?

It's just a glaring blindspot for me, but I now have a P90-equipped guitar here, and am
thinking the minimum requirement for me is to at least consider swapping Pickups and
inquiring about options.

My last P90-er was some P-Rails. They were like Meh x 3. Meh Humbucker tones. Meh Single
Coil tones and I am guessing Meh P90 tones. :wat

I know I could Lollar by default but am open to all kinds of suggestions that are not Meh. :beer

Nah, bro. Lollar is the way. Their stuff is seriously the real deal.

I have a set in my Les Paul and a set in my red Strat. I have a theory that one of their builders makes the best pickups. He signs his pickups with what looks like a backwards E and a B. His signature is on the P90 pickups on the Lollar site.

I’m not saying the other builders are bad but this person put his heart into building these pickups. Even the soldering is artwork.

Lollar makes really nice pickups. I have a hotter wound Tele model in the bridge of one of my guitars, it kinda sits right in between a traditional Tele pickup and a humbucker.

Second Lollar all the way. I have a bridge 50s that just needs a new lead wire soldered to the base I’d be happy to mail you if you want.

I have a Les Paul Special double cut that is just dripping with attitude. Love that guitar.

That's my next Dream Guitar---in TV Yellow. :love I don't like the Singlecut Juniors
that are currently in production. Or that Beato Sig. :facepalm

I just haven't found a used one at a decent price---so I am consoling myself
with something else right now.

The Eastman copy is REALLY good. Lovely chunky neck.

Mine is the reddish/burgundy one. I’m not a huge fan of the single cuts either. In fact, the DC junior is the body shape that I have always loved, I lusted after Hamers in the eighties but could never afford one. So, later in life, I “made do” with PRS.

I like the look of the double cuts so much more. But *puts on his “proud to be a bedroom player* t-shirt looks in the mirror reminding himself he’s good enough* - I find the single cut to be so much more comfortable playing while seated. Having that upper horn to press into my torso is great, where the DC feels like it’s trying to slide out of my lap a bit.

Awesome. That's a match. :cheers

Did the entire lead get yanked out of the base.... or just cut/nipped off? :idk
