Any one try the AnalogX AI stuff yet?

I find it interesting how spending money on hardware systems an Axe3 for its amazing verb, or spending money on preset packs is okay around here but spending money is foolish.
It’s just another new toy for most. So what?

Plus at this point in the game there will be a whole lotta more music produced that won’t make a penny.

Again so what.

I started this thread to see if anyone had any experience with it. Not why something doesn’t make sense according to guys no having used it.

It’s not really about whether it costs money or not, and I like and use this tech. As someone who’s experimented making models of studio gear, you couldn’t pay me to use these though, just too many red flags and compromises to make it worthwhile for me.

Glad you’re liking them and find them worthwhile. Curious to know what problems they solve for you that other approaches don’t. Maybe you can convince me what I’m missing out on.

I love new gear! And new plugins! I just prefer modeling to profiling/capturing in both instances. How are you applying this to your DAW projects?
Not at all yet.
Im
So behind with some of my work I wouldn’t experience with work flow on those.

But what I’m doing with new plugs I see how it works for my ITB practice rig.
Inside GigPerformer

So I’m running the input through an amp sim like Tonex, Tonocracy or any of the NDSP plugs etc into this and/or the Korneff Level-Loc from there into a mixer that splits the signal to dry, Eventide H3000, T-Verb, Toontrack EzMix 3.
So it’s AI central. Lol

Whereas my regular project are mostly Uaudio and Plugin Alliance stuff.

No need for Me to convince anyone of any thing.
What does it solve other stuff doesn’t solve?
Don’t know yet if it will solve anything better, but why do I have a gazillion delay plugs :-)

I’m curious what you like about them - presumably they must sound better or different to what you normally use?

I’d hope that the reason for having lots of delay plugins is that you find them inspiring to use or they simplify a process/routing that might otherwise be tedious.

Different yes. But likely not so different I couldn’t get there by other means.

Let me try to express it this way.
I’ve been using Nuendo since late in v1.
But I’ve gone back to ProTools because I love how Heat in it sounds.
Could I just slap PA/BX channel strips on it to get the same. Of course but I’m simply not willing to deal with it when I can just open PT and have the crunch I want.

I totally get it’s just clipping in the end.

So when I dl’d the demo it had the same effect the right type of clipping with way less effort, although still not as simple as Heat.

I guess when I look at Level-Loc it’s three emulations of the same compressor. Sounding close enough to not really matter.

Yet in using it on multiple busses I like small variance between stuff
Guess that’s also what the BX TMT does.

As for delays, that was more a I want it to sound like a PCM 41/42 with the grid.
So all the delays until PSP added the front end clipping in the new version was me trying to get just that.

But yes part of it is just getting inspiration.
