Some Advice Needed "Tonex ONE -vs- Sonulab StompStation ?

Been asked to put together a very small rig for a colleague.

He already has a Morningstar MC6 MK2 and has asked me whether to get the Tonex ONE of the Stompstation.

In short-

=> I can get him a mint-used Tonex ONE plus Midi Box all locally here in Oz all up for $AUD 300 [the midi box is needed as the MC6 MK2 cant natively change Tonex ONE settings]
=> He can also afford a Sonulab StompStation - which landed here in Oz will be around $AUD 490 - quite a bit more

From Leo Gibson's test, the LUFS for the Tonex ONE is -34.9 and for the Sonulab its -33.7 -and- latency for either is roughly the same.

Also, from my personal testing, the aliasing in the Tonex does have a built-in roll off in the high end from around ~14khz... but both being NN/AI/ML units, their aliasing is probably a wash.

Also, he is not wedded to Tonex Captures or NAM Captures but wants my opinion.

Im thinking even though the Sonulab is a miniscule ~%3 better in the LUFS - that is almost certainly unhearable ... so given the big Price differnece ... I thinking of recommending the Tonex ONE and Midi Box.

Any thoughts / ideas would be appreciated.

Would he be interested in a Stomp or is he interested in only captures? Not sure how the used market is in Oz, but prices seem to be dropping here if he wanted to save some money.

HX Stomps down here are recession-proof. Used - on average - they go for anywhere between ~AUD$700 <-> ~AUD$850 ..... once in a while out of the blue, a cheap one will be listed for ~AUD$600 <-> ~AUD$650 but they will sell almost immediately.

Either way, its way over their budget.

For me personally, it'd depend on which of the two is less horrible to use (because they both are horrible in case you actually want to switch patches).
