And on the Mark VII day they Boogied ...

Which part? Is it metal? If so, get a rattle can and paint it yourself.
This is what I’m going to do! It’s the chrome piece that’s connected to the handle - literally the piece screw down. I inquired with them and they don’t make black ones so I’ll have to tape it up and spray them one day. Just like my truck lol that chrome delete mod is key.

Google it first, b/c I think you have to do some special prep to make sure paint sticks to chrome.

The MB Thiele 1x12 is a front loading cab, and the EVML12 does not come with a gasket installed on the mounting surface.

Also, due to the heft of the speaker, I'm going to need to use all mounting holes. To ensure I get rock solid durability, I'm going to install 8x T-nut threaded inserts and fasten with M6 bolts.

Parts are ordered, so the waiting game continues. :hmm

What a PITA!

The speaker gaskets arrived today and glued up without issue.

The M6 T-nut threaded inserts and M6 x 30mm screws also arrived.

I had to drill 8 x 5/8" holes for the inserts. No matter how hard I tried, my centering skills are a little suspect, so two of the 8 holes were too close to the edge of the speaker cutout and blew through the speaker cutout edge. I'm not too worried about it because the 4 prong T-nuts were still able to lock in at least 3 prongs.

It took much longer than I wanted, but I know the mount will be rock solid. I connected the speaker terminals to the input jack and lowered the speaker into its new home. I checked positioning and was extremely happy that all the mounting holes aligned perfectly with the new inserts. All that's left is to install and tighten the M6 x 30 mm screws.

:cuss
F'n screws are too short. :facepalm

Amazon to the rescue? We'll find out tomorrow.

For next time (or anyone else doing this type of task)...

Assuming you mean centering your new screw holes so they align with the speaker mounting holes, (as opposed to centering the speaker on the hole in the cabinet- also important, but can be done using measurements), this tool stays in my tool kit:

It's a Centering Punch Tool. That black tip is actually spring-loaded. You place the bottom tapered part onto the speaker mounting hole, and tap the top part (which would be sticking above the barrel, due to the spring inside, if the picture was accurate), with a hammer, which drives the pointed end down, and leaves a perfectly-centered imprint into whatever material you're going to screw into. It's best to use that small indent to then drill a pilot hole into, using a drill bit that's a bit smaller than the screw you're going to use.

I use that method/tool when installing new door hinges, since those screws need to be centered in the hinge holes.

As far as screws not being long enough (I run into this on occasion), sometimes you need to drill a larger, recessed hole, usually from the back side. I run into this problem when attaching door/drawer handles to kitchen cabinets, if the hardware doesn't come with a certain kind of (extra-long) screw, that the shaft can be broken off with pliers, to make it shorter.

My issue is the later. The speaker was skewed about 2.5 mm to the right of center on the vertical axis. I created my alignment marks a couple days ago, prior to installing the 1/4" thick Rubitex gasket to the back of the speaker frame. :facepalm MeasureTwiceDrillOnce™

I feel like the 12L makes my Mark III feel faster, maybe more focused in the mids too.
Yes, I agree with both of your observations. For single note stuff, I noticed a very pronounced (and pleasing) "vocal' growl.

The look on my face when realized my Mark IV channel was set to 25 watts and then flipped it to 90 watts...

I like the Mark VII mode even more with the EV upgrade.
