Either way, I like having it how it is, and it sounds freaking great!

Maybe someday I'll pop the top and roll some different tubes in it. Just for fun. :banana:banana

Seems like I’m right on the money for my tastes with the Fireball. I do like the Blackmoore/Savage rawness but I don’t think I can really pull it off with my playing. All captures I’ve tried has made me go back to the FB in some way and now I’m starting to see why. Having a PB mk2 with four channels is still very enticing but I’d need at least a 2x12 which I can’t find room for in my current living situation.
Same for me, just with a different conclusion: The fireball sounds as muffly as I remember. It just doesn't fit my style of music with its bass heavy tone. Whenever I played it, I was never able to clean up the low end and make it as tight as I need. The Savage is right up my alley. But still, if you look at my profiles, I often scooped the bass and pushed mids & highs a lot.
We're playing pretty technical Metalcore stuff. I need it tight and clear. For me this is perfect. But if I would play something like Black Metal, it would be a total different story.

I’m going to have to try out your NAM captures!

But I get what you mean. I’m cutting a bit of bass on my FB25 since I practically always run a Precision Drive in front with Attack on 2 or 3 and the level just above unity. Then I’m also cutting down a bit around 80hz and 250hz with an eq in the loop (and brightening things up top). The 25 provably doesn’t have the same bottom end as the 100 though.

Should be interesting setting up one of your captures of the Savage against a reamp of my FB25 with my settings. Sounds like I have a little project now!
