I never really liked Bee Gees. ABBA's songwriting is incredibly good, really varied and clever. For me, they are the Beatles of 70’s disco pop music.

I am scandinavian and was a kid when Abba hit the world. They have contributed to my love for simple catchy melodies as well as the 80s did in general. Also, they taught me quite early that the swedish bagpipe and the mood of scandinavian folk were sounds of home and identity. The best thing they did imo is not even a pop song, but a magical folk tune embracing how beautiful, safe and prosperous life in Scandinavia can be:
