I put this short medley together for a solo guitar performance at a local venue. It features "When You Wish Upon a Star" and "Stella by Starlight." I transposed both to guitar friendly keys, mainly to make use of open strings and harmonics. I've played "Stella" at jam sessions with horn players in the original key, so know it pretty well. And I watched a few vids of "When You Wish..." to get ideas. It took about a month or so to prepare. There's an intro, and an ad-lib section linking the two, for which I used a looper. The guitar is a 1980s Fender Japan "Sonny" Telecaster. It's run through a pedalboard that included an Effectrode tube compressor, a Keeley modded RAT, two pedals from GameChanger Audio (Bigsby and Plus, the latter with a JAM RetroVibe in its loop), a T-Rex Replicator tape echo and an EHX 720, and into the venue PA. For the looped ad-lib section, I used an old fusion thing by creating a two chord vamp that differs by one note, which makes for some interesting lines, similar in tonality but not quite the same. Thank you for listening. I hope you enjoy.
