Nice! Really hope they do a 7-stringNAMM 2024: “It does everything a Strandberg can do but redefines accessibility for all levels of players”: Strandberg reveals the Boden Essential, its most affordable guitar yet
Featuring key Strandberg traits including its EndurNeck and ergonomic shape, the Boden Essential scales back its price point with a few choice tweaks to appeal to players of all budgetswww.guitarworld.com
Glad to see them do this; this is a fair price, particularly with including the gigbag. Interesting that the article doesn't mention what appears to be a straight scale, not fanned frets. It still has the EndureNeck, which unfortunately probably still puts it out of the running for me.
The body was fine. Pickups were Fishmans (ugh) but good considering its a brand name piece. Bridge, but and fret sprout were all terrible though.Given my personal experience with Agiles, I’d say the Strandberg will be better. Agile stuff tended to be pretty much inconsistent crap, despite allegedly being made in Korea.
Looks to be a species related to mahogany. It's Strandberg. They're going to maximize possible as much as possible. These are also made out of Meranti, which is a crap wood.
made out of Meranti, which is a crap wood
But is it really crap if it’s just a species of mahogany? Okume is another similar species that seems to get a lot of use.Yeah, it’s what Ibanez uses on their $399 guitars.
Its so light, though, that return shipping costs won't be that muchI’ve been itching for a new guitar, and a Strandberg crossed my mind briefly. Always tough rolling the dice with a guitar you know you’ll absolutely love or hate within 30 seconds. Might stick to the basics lol
I know without a headstock they have to put logo somewhere, but I think having writing on the body is kinda tacky looking imo.
Are they FS on Amazon? Its so light, though, that return shipping costs won't be that much
Philippine mahogany : "At about 36 pounds per cubic foot air-dry, meranti is heavier than Honduras mahogany. However, it is not nearly as hard nor as strong, and lacks the durability and stability of a true mahogany. And you may find brittleness in some boards."This is the natural oiled RG that's meranti, and it looks a lot like mahogany.

Of course, doesn't matter on the Strandys, since they're painted.
Looks like somebody's trying to start a "tone wood" debate .Philippine mahogany : "At about 36 pounds per cubic foot air-dry, meranti is heavier than Honduras mahogany. Meranti
Frequently called Philippine mahogany, this wood isn't mahogany at all.www.woodmagazine.com
Big issue, rigidity and structure play a big part in the acoustic properties of a piece of wood and in turn the tone. Can't get away from it .Not so much the quality of tone, but durability of the body.
Its six strings are fixed in place by Strandberg's new EGS Arc cast zink fixed bridge and string locks
Would that stop you buying a Les Paul? at one time they had plastic nuts and saddles and all zinc castings. They lost me here:
At least they’re being honest and letting us know it’s zinc so I know not to buy one
