Hahahahaha if that's not April I'd be pretty surprised. That's par for the course based on everything I've ever heard about her.
And I'd absolutely chalk this up to them not knowing/understanding how copywrites work on YouTube. I'd be willing to bet a box of donuts that if they found out how they actually work with covers, they'd change their tune immediately. Or double down instead of changing course which I could see someone with an out of control ego perceiving as being wrong.
He had a good year where he was coming off as if he'd grown up a bit, then he went on tour and started kicking the openers off the shows when he'd show up to the venue and find out there was an opener, as if that wasn't discussed between the promoter and booking agency. I'd doubt his wife is booking the gigs herself, the dude would be getting banned from all of them if that were the case.

The thing is, it's not just them, doesn't every single Hotel California cover get the same treatment?

I think so. I also believe Yngwie and Henley may suffer from the same syndrome.
