This popped out at the local market for $400. What do you think? Is it worth?

I am no friend of LP ergonomics, but for this price I am wondering if it can be an exception

Never had a Yamaha I didn't like, but I'd say you have to play it to know. That will tell you if it's worth it... and it's Marketplace where most folks (around here at least) way overprice things, so, offer $300 and haggle to $350 if you really do like it.

I've checked the prices on Reverb. A Yamaha SL-500 in good condition at the US starts at $1,295
:columbo
In Japan they are more reasonable, starting at $458

I hope that the seller will keep it for me until the weekend, so I can go to see it

Hahahah man, every forum I go to is having some MIJ Les Paul thing going on on it right now. It’s not uncommon to see them for so low over in Japan, there’s a bunch of Burny’s and Greco’s for $400-$700 on Reverb, or Edwards, Tokai, etc. I don’t know anything about the Yamaha’s, but everything in that pic looks like a quality gitfiddle!
