Why are guitar players so weak?

Oh, how macho. We’re all impressed and want to sleep with you. 😂

I have a 10 lbs Strat and it does get heavy on the shoulder after a couple hours. Some people have bad backs. I’m glad that I don’t but i did get an injury in the past that made playing miserable. I really do get not wanting to carry an AC30 up the stairs anymore.

I don't mind carrying heavy amps or cabs but there's no way I'd play a 10lb strat. It would be hard to find any strat that doesn't way less than that.

No trolling, I just don’t get the fixation with everybody demanding everything to be as light as possible. Okay, I get why you don’t want to haul a 4x12 up the stairs by yourself, but switching from a Helix to a QC to save a few kg etc? I just don’t get it.
I think it's been outlined pretty well already. Stuff adds up, and not everyone has an abundance of space. Some people have health issues.

First, the OP could serve as a textbook example of online trolling. Second, I realize that you don't get something - and that's OK - but there is no "fixation" of any sort that is shared by "everybody." Third, the whole thing is OT for the forum you posted in.

Seriously, what is up with people? All these musicians that can’t manage to lift a 2x12 cab and have to use an ""FRFR"" that weighs the same as a bag of sugar.

You even see it with things like the Helix. “Oh it’s way too big and heavy”. I mean really? It’s less than 7kg? Can you not even pick up a big watermelon that weighs about the same?

And don’t get me started on guitars. Trying to sell some currently and it’s a constant “what does it weigh?” I don’t know, but I do know that you don’t even have to lift it that much because it hangs off a strap. And my 3 year old can have it on her lap without complaining so I’m sure a grown man will manage.

Rant over, for now.
Thats what roadies are for right?

fwiw, at least guitar gear is moderately weighty. i talk to guys who complain about their necks getting sore from 1# headphones.

but i also never got the telecaster guys griping over an ounce or two. all my cabs seem to have evms in them, and i have two ruptured lumbar discs. thats why theyre 112s..

As far as amps/cabs go, it's as simple as the first time you have to carry anything up a couple flights of stairs.

Even better, doing it in a region that snows in the winter and the majority of venues you're playing were built in the late 1800's/early 1900's when people were considerably smaller. You get to lug that shit up and down an uneven, stone stairwells that are seemingly built for leprechauns while they're covered in gray slushy winter shit.
