Just came back from Copenhagen. Saw Megadeth and Disturbed over the weekend. It was their 25th anniversary The Sickness tour.
Megadeth was excellent. They played so well, sounded huge and apart from the highest notes Dave's vocals were on point. Teemu Mäntysaari was a great match for Mustaine's playing. We want to see them again so I hope they come somewhere close by for their final tour.
My spouse was over the moon. Megadeth is her favorite band so I'm really happy we got to see them live.
I've never been a Disturbed fan. I knew only their biggest hits. It was a bit of a letdown after Megadeth. David Draiman sounded good, but I felt like he deserves a much better band. A lot of their songs sounded quite similar to me, and Dan Donegan's playing sounded like a muddy stereotype Dual Rectifier sound that was generally just boring. The band for some reason got off stage for a bit after like every song to do something, then came back for the next one.
Megadeth as an opener for Disturbed was a weird move, but at least tickets were pretty reasonable for a stadium gig. Lots of people in the arena.
Copenhagen as a city is really beautiful, and they have great pastries! But it's also a very expensive city even by Finnish standards. Really liked just walking around and seeing the sights.
