Which should I trade for?

Wasn’t the combo circuit tweaked slightly so it’s somewhere towards a 5150II/6505+?

Can’t remember 100% but i’m sure I heard JB say that on a podcast. A bit like how all the EVH models evolve slightly with each model
The combo was always "sweeter" sounding to my ears? I wouldn't kick a 6534+ out of the discussion if it were an option

Not sure on that. It was modified from the head, though.

There complaints (go figure!) about the head not having a very good Clean Channel.... or a Clean Channel
at all.... as if people had no idea who EVH was and the kind of music he played. :idk

So that was altered to accommodate the whiners.

It's also smaller in the power section, with 60 watts and 2 power tubes instead of 4 in the head.

Guy hits me up for the Fryette. Turns out he has a Mark III Blue Stripe combo. EV speaker, good shape. The universe must have known I bought the V.
:hmm
He wants to trade for the LX and one of my EVH 112s. I hate to break up the pair but I kinda sorta want to take him up on his offer :bag

That would be tempting. EQ? Simul?

Jeez that’s handwringing territory.

Honestly you’ve probably got that base covered with the V. The III does have its magic but aside from being more open (esp a blue stripe) I’d think you’re replicating something you already have.

I’d only do it if I didn’t love what I was trading away.
It's a drive for ~2 hours deal. If he was driving it to my front porch; I'd already have him be on the way :bag I have abunch of stuff rolling over this weekend we're trying to get through so I have some time to think about it. I like the idea of it certainly. Even if it is redundant.

Worse case scenario…. Depending on your market, a clean mrak III might be easier to sell than an obscure fryette limited use unit also :bag

I personally wouldn’t trade because the LXII for me is such a great thing and by no means a “limited” tool to have in my studio but as always YMMV.

Keep in mind Boogie stuff especially the Mark series typically isn’t my thing so there’s that.

the combo is like 500 bucks tops, plus i prolly wouldnt want move it around much hahaha

yall said single rectos werent loud enough so thats a no.

i would also hold out for somethin better.
I've only heard one and it was the only rectifier I've heard in person that sounded good. Was plenty loud enough, was my friends band. At practice with a metal drummer and no mic. Definitely loud enough
