When bass buys attack!

Wanted a 5 string bass just to track with and to scratch the “something new” itch. Found a Schecter Omen Elite in a gorgeous blue and pulled the trigger.

Arrived today, shipping box looked mostly intact, unpacked it, oohed and ahhed at the pretty finish, sat down, plugged it in, grabbed the neck and … >insert needle-scratching-off-the-record noise<

Fretboard peeling straight off the neck. Upon closer inspection, the nut is jacked and there’s a chip out of the headstock that seems like it happened due to the fretboard pushing the nut.

Reached out to the seller… and now we wait…

Damn, that should not have happened with a proper glue up, unless a lot of heat was applied. Sorry, that sucks!

Thinking it may have slid in the shipping box and took a nice rap on the top of the headstock, as the packing styrofoam inside the Schecter box is caved in. Maybe that was enough to flex the neck and pop the board loose?
