What's preventing you from getting a Helix Stadium (if you really want to buy it eventually)?

What is it you want?

I just hope they can keep it compact and affordable. I’d take the current size with upgraded DSP and Agoura modeling over something much larger and more expensive to accommodate the new touchscreen interface. It will be interesting to see what they end up with.
Given that it'll likely have a touch screen that's a bit larger, I'm sure it'll be in at least the $800-$900 range.

I was just thinking that Line 6 is going to want to share their IP across a family of products like others do (including Line 6). Stadium XL and Stadium "standard" are just the flagship models. I fully expect them to continue to fill out their product lineup with Stadium class processing and features ..... and sadly, to quit developing on the older Helix line completely.

So the question really comes down to what the Line 6 product lineup looks like. I would say that the current HX Stomp XL is the head to head competitor to AM4. I also don't think that the HX Stomp line will be getting much new development while Line 6 fills out their new Stadium based product lineup.

That is just how I read the tea leaves ;)
Yeah I think Line6 might throw Helix users a bone and maybe put out one more firmware update and then some bug fixes. But I don't see much more than that when they focus on the new lineup.

I think the Helix stuff will remain as a more affordable lineup for quite some while. Helix Stadium XL is about twice the price of the Helix Floor in EU, and even the Helix Stadium is a lot more. Maybe over time they are able to push the Stadium stuff to a bit lower price bracket.

Also, Line 6 seems to undercut Fractal in price. I expect that this will continue in the future so the max I could see the SM4 sell at would be $600 to undercut the AM4's $700 price. Line 6 can do this due to higher volume (and arguably better hardware engineering designed specifically for high volume manufacturing low costs).
Digital Igloo has been pretty adamant at saying this gen of modelers will be more expensive because well, everything is.

So by the time the Stadium Stomp comes out, things will be different again. I think it will be at minimum around the AM4 price point, maybe even more expensive.

Fractal is probably not that much competition for them in sales, as much as people like them on forums.

In the US the non-sale price of the AM4 is the same as the non-sale price of the Stomp. Despite having been released in this time of "everything's more expensive".

The fact that they kept the helix name in the new product tells me that this is an term bridge product so they released it with all the old helix stuff because it bloated the product itself. I mean, if it was just a agora it wouldn’t be hardly anything in that product.
So this may be more of a bridge product to a new flagship coming within the next five years and then this will be the helix that will be supported, and the helix LX and original helix will probably be discontinued at that point

You must be kidding. I need to believe you're just kidding. Please tell me you are.

Just stop. You’re literally the only person on the planet that thinks this is a stopgap product. And if for whatever reason it turns out to be it won’t be because you were right, it will be hardware problems or something totally outside of “planned limited availability”.

It’s possible … who knows.
So if in a couple of years they come out with a new name flagship what are you gonna do go back to my post and go? Oh I guess you were right.. doubt it…
But this is just a vibe I’m getting from it. I never said I knew Everything or I was right. It’s just my opinion. Take it for what you will I don’t care.

Unless they have been working on another device for the last few years it really isn't possible, and DI knows and said you are wrong. So, the odds that you are correct are somewhat less than the odds that you get hit by a meteor less than an hour after you win a billion dollar lottery prize you didn't even buy a ticket for. It's not happening.

It's obvious you don't know, no need to clarify that 🤦 But truly thinking Stadium is a mid-term product and that a new "true" flagship device will arrive in 5 years is just crazy as hell.
