I forgot to mention I have a Stomp XL and have been using the various Muffs from that for Smashing Pumpkins. Would a stand alone be that much better?

If you already have a sd1 and a klone you're pretty sorted for mid pushed things. How about going for a boost to stack with the drives you already have or to just hit the amps preamp harder? An EP booster clone would work really well with your amp and the drive pedals you already have.

I'd go for something different like say a Nobels ODR-1 based pedal.

I'm a believer that analog fuzz pedals are much better than digital. But that's just me!

I would start with the SD-1. It pretty much works with everything.
