I’ve owned several Mesa amps throughout my tone journey. I can recommend this one within your budget, I had it, and it was an excellent tone machine across many different styles.

Here is one os several vid i did with that amp when i had it,

Actually yeah, the Express+ series is awesome, and great for blues and mid-gain rock. Definitely recommend. I paid $1000 for a 5:50+ a couple years ago.

Fillmore.

I traded my Deluxe Reverb for a Mesa Express 5:25 combo, great amp that did everything the Fender did, plus more. Ended up trading that for the 5:50 head cause I already had a great 1x12 cab and it was even better. Recently, I traded that for a Les Paul and then for a Fillmore 25 head and I LOVE that amp. It's WAY more versatile than I thought it'd be. Fantastic cleans, crunch and, surprisingly, high gain.

I have been wanting to try a Fillmore. Blackface Fender is my sound and the Fillmore seems like the perfect blackface combo.

I saw a band recently where the guitar player had a Cali tweed head, sounded great. I think either of those would be the best Mesas for blues.
