Earlier I managed a 20 minutes first play of my new Fender Mike McCready Strat that arrived yesterday.

The idea popped in my head last night to change this up a bit. I think I'm limiting myself considerably keeping this the 'Gilmour Strat' and not "My Strat". I dig these EMG's and the boosts for this guitar, but I can never get the low end sitting where I want. Shit....I was going to order an HSS pickguard for this but forgot that it's routed for 3 singles and I don't want to strart hacking wood out of it.
I really liked the Lollar Specials I heard in some comparison vids for the neck/middle but I'm unsure about the bridge. I know for the controls I want a mid boost in the center and a master tone for the bottom knob. I also have a normal sized whammy bar on the way for it. The Gilmour one works great for Gilmour stuff but the way I normally utilize a whammy still trips me up on this guitar because I'll go to grab it quickly and grab the tip instead of the shaft huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhhehheheheheh
The light hit the fingerboard just right when I first picked it up and I can see the nitro wearing down in a few spots and is completely worn away under the B-string at the 15th fret. Am I still a poser if I put "honest" wear on my stolen valorcaster?!
