Backstory??? :idk
I'm visiting my uncle in Chattanooga and he took me to a buddies house to jam.

His buddy Randy was a saxophone player who had to hang it up after he got copd a few years back (he's 75)

Randy has a detached garage on his property with a fully stocked jam room.. guitars, keyboards, drum kit, etc...

He had several old (and new) guitars hanging on the wall, but the custom was just sublime.

We spent the afternoon jamming, telling stories and sharing a couple barley pops. I told him on my way out that if he ever ran out of room, I'd take the LP off his hands for him :banana

Someone in another thread asked about this guitar, a 1960s MIJ Idol “bizarre” guitar, so I took it for a spin. The rig is a temporary work station at which I’m comparing four versions of the big box Memory Man units. Sharp eyes will notice a 1960s Silvertone guitar and its “amp-in-case,” with which I began the Memory Man comparison some weeks ago and preempted for the Idol. I guess I got a thing for these old oddities!
Holy guacamole! That's freakin' wild. Now I know where the term "axe" being used for a guitar come from.

I've been playing my '93 MIJ '52 Reissue partscaster Telecaster. With its 33 year old body and ebony board American Elite Telecaster compound radius neck it's an absolute joy to play. Great tone and ergonomics.
