What Guitar Are You Playing At This Very Moment...

Been playing my Teles a lot lately.

At this very moment I'm typing. No idea how you folks manage to play guitar simultaneously. Possibly speech-to-text...

I want a gold Vela. The most interesting prs they've made in many years and I still haven't played one. I still want one though.

I’m curious about the new ones with US pickups

The G&B pickups are what they and generally decentish, but one thing I like about the ones in the vela is that they’re not just run of the mill hums or single coils. Still interested in possibly experimenting with some other pickups at some point. The stock pickups still sound pretty good and unique tho

Yeah I'd like to compare the US pickups to the G&B ones to see how different they really are.

All the cool sounds I've heard on videos that made me want one in the first place were the originals with G&B pickups though.

The bridge pickups are the same style on both, but for the new ones they switched to the narrowfield pickup in the neck. OG one is a de armond style based pickup in the neck

I hadn't realised that. I had a narrow field in my prs studio and liked it but in a vela I think I'd prefer the de armond style one. The pickups were one of the things that made the Vela unique.

Yeah I’m guessing that for the S2 switch to US pickups they didn’t want to go through the process of setting up the tooling for such a hyper specific pickup only used in one guitar lol

On the other hand they were already making a US version of that bridge pickup for the old core Starla’s
