What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

Just took the tone control off my strat bridge pickup and I don't hate it. Bit more guts than before without the tone control loading it down. I don't think I'll keep it this way for long but I realised yesterday I've never had a strat without the bridge connected to a tone so thought I'd try it for a while.
You can do a blower switch on a push pull and have both.

Fucked around during work hours and played a bunch of Green Day tunes (I work from home on Fridays). Got our once a month practice with the tribute band this weekend and I always tighten stuff up at home the week of. Shits fun and feeling pretty effortless. Been feeling some more punk rock type vibes lately so when I’ve not been doing these songs I’ve been playing Rise Against tunes.

Took a break from working on band stuff and banged out a couple riffs that most likely won't work in the new band. Some good, heavy shit.

I've been playing so much lately with no signs of anything stopping me, with a whole mountain of drama that got dropped on me in the last few weeks which is all coming to a close, kinda. There's going to ample fuel in the tank for a while to come!

Don't forget to write some killer turnarounds for those heavy riffs, Drew.

It's like switching hands while your crankin' that hog.

When I swapped out pickups yesterday I changed over from D'Addario XL to DR Pure Blues because I liked them on my Tele. Sure enough the high E string kept slipping while tuning up and the low E string actually broke when stretching (which has never happened to me in 30 years of playing guitar). Had to take off the entire set of strings and put on a fresh set of XL's.

Got the five way rotary switch out of my prs case and cleared the old solder out of the holes. Seriously thinking about putting it back to stock with this and the original Dragon IIs. Been listening to a lot of old recordings recently and missing some of those sounds.

I’ve been considering the same with my CE-24. I originally replaced the rotary switch with a three-way toggle for ease of switching, but I miss the other options.

That's exactly it. I really miss positions 2 and 4, can't get those sounds any other way. I gigged that guitar stock for 15 years and loved it. Over the last 10 years I've basically turned it into a Les Paul light with a trem and it doesn't get used anymore.

Edit - position 3 always sucked though. Really wish they'd have given us the two humbuckers together instead of those split coils in series.

Exactly! The only issue I think I’ll have is with my pickup choice. I have a JB in the bridge and a PRS Vintage Bass in the neck. Both of these do not compliment each other that well as other pickup “sets” so I’m not sure how well the 2 and 4 positions will sound.

Yeah I've honestly no idea. I've still got my original pickups in the case which I'm going to put back in. I think the dragon IIs have the neck pickups magnet flipped for hum cancelling in positions 2,3 and 4. Not sure about the pickups yours would originally have had.

I really wish my CE-24 had a 5-way switch. I don't like push pull knobs but I'd love to run hotter pickups with coil splits on it. Maybe I could try a push-push pot in mine.

I used one of these for a few years in my prs and it was fine but definitely didn't last as well as the CTS push pull I replaced it with. The action felt a lot less positive in use and I couldn't rely on it.

There's a CTS push/pull out there too that looks pretty solid. Something to chew on I suppose.

EDIT: I meant push/pull, not push/push!
