What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

After getting the BE-OD yesterday I spent a little while going over some older Zakk tunes with the SPX90 in a loop.

Then I spent about an hour trying to figure out why my Vibe Machine no longer vibes, it just acts as some kind of EQ/filter effect no matter what I do to the knobs/switches. I may have cooked it using the 500mA power rather than the 100mA? Also, both my fuzz pedals are so fucking noisy they are unusable as the noise is constant, even when I'm playing. Doesn't matter if I go straight into the amp, nor what kind of cables I use. That's really shitty.

Today I'm just noodling around, digging on these tones. I have to start working on backing tracks for the duo thing, but right now these tones are too much fun. Just annoyed with the lack of a vibe.

Edit- Fixed the vibe problem already. I watched a bunch of vibe videos and I dug this one more than most that were double it's price and/or size. I had a Rotovibe in high school, I don't know where it went, but I remember that being pretty sick so if I don't dig the Vibranaught I'll go there next.

That wouldn't since it's current. Too much voltage could though. How much current is needed for the vibe?
Did you change anything, might not be getting enough current needs. Should be on the pedal like -- 9V @ 250mA etc.

Ahhhh duh, these are things I should know all the time, not just when I’m at work and in the context of office building electricity. :rofl

I don’t actually know the requirements, I’ve plugged it into the same cheap ass Amazon PSU I’ve had for 3 years….I think I got it just because I needed to power that pedal specifically, but can’t remember any specs on either. I’ll take a peak when I get home.

i learned final solo of fade to black half way today... planning to finish tomorrow. Then practice it and make a video,.,,,

At the moment I dont have desire to play but im forcing myself to play for just little bit so i dont get rusty.

This is what I did during the divorce period, writing wasn’t happening at the time but to keep myself going I’d just bang out some covers. I actually started learning this one a few months back, I figured before I yank the EMG’s out of my Edwards, I should give that solo a go since its the one thing Kirk plays on an LPC consistently.

I had a Drybell Vibe. It was 9v @ 250 ma. Ran it directly off my voodoo labs power supply.

Oh man! Easy to light up them photocells and poof!
:brick

Like FA said.... voltage and polarity is what'll cook your photocells. A lot of pedals
have built in protection in the form of a diode on the power supply that'll fry and
sacrifice it's life to save the pedal village.

That's a killer price on the Vibronaut. It more than holds its own up and against
$200-$400 boutique vibes. It's bonkers he gets all of that into such a small
enclosure, too.

Oh, and it has internal trimmers to adjust 3 or 4 different things inside. If you
get it and mess with them snap a photo of where they are at so you can always
go back if you need to.

As a general rule of thumb I never plug in and out pedals to a power supply while the juice is up and
running. Inadvertent surges and spikes can happen. And if you are daisy-chaining anything else, and
the taps are not isolated you can lose more than one pedal.

So many "tone experiments" with the dumptruck full of gear we all seem to have at our disposal and I know I have a time now and then where I go dumb and could absolutely miss something. I am actually surprised I've never fired up and amp without a cab attached :rofl

Every dumb thing that can be done: Guilty!
:facepalm

I am waiting for more dumb things to be invented so I can
cover that territory, too. :rollsafe

I once fried 3 amps, because I didn't know I had blown both
speakers in a 2 x 12 using a Mark III. Must be the amps, right?

So keep plugging in amps until you hear sound. Makes sense.

I never thought for a minute I had blown 2 speakers out of a Cab, so
before I discovered that it was the Cab/Speakers I hooked up 2 other
tube amps to that same Cab.

I could still cry about that one.

you’ve already been through this BS and you know how it is…. What makes it harder is having kid to go through this BS. I can see its hurting him… his not his usual happy kid but he still does best at school.

Teachers told him his the benchmark for his year group at school. Despite all that crap we have to deal with we are powering through.

I had more more financial setbacks, since then and 2 days ago my car broke down….

That will be more money out of my bank…

Anyways…. It is what it is….

Solo isnt hard you can learn it in few hours. I was almost done last night but I lost will to play… today I feel crap… have massive headache since yesterday….

Ive recorded whole song, just got to finish that solo.

Me playing covers and writing my own songs is the way to prove that Im not shit guitarist to those who always try to put me down.

I know few people….

Anyways…

Now sitting at hospital to have some scans done so I can get my cab back. Licensing team they are such a pain in the arse to make me jump through all hoops… me just to able to work is mad….

Sorry if this come across as rant…

Thats not my intentions
