What artist makes you feel like you’re eating plain oatmeal?

I’m just joining this thread but I’m going to say anything from that 2010s era 1800s cosplay stomp-clap ‘indie folk’ bullshit that was so prevalent on the indie rock radio stations at the time. You know beards and handlebar mustaches and pork pie hats and skin tight jeans, acoustic guitars and banjos and mandolins and the whole band joining in for the chorus.

mumford and sons comes to mind

I'll admit the cosplay vibe is overdone, but there is some good music that can be found in the indie folk genre. Yeah, it's mostly mellow stuff, yes there is some plain oatmeal flavors, but there is also some oatmeal with raisins and cinnamon, and every now and then some nuts and apple chunks along the way too. :grin:ROFLMAO:

It's always conspicuous when everyone and their brother suddenly and coincidentally makes a U-turn at the exact same time.

Haha. Maybe I can relate. I like Mac DeMarco. He has pretty much become indie folk at this point. And I could see how he could be like plain oatmeal to some people but not to me. To me he’s like post Beatles Lennon and McCartney home recordings. But I admit he was better before he went acoustic.

But that mumford and sons and edward sharp old timey cosplay stuff is so uncool :rofl Definitely oatmeal with raisins

It's an abomination. But Post Malone makes it work. Go listen War Pigs form the Grammys :satan
I heard some of it. I liked everything except the singer, whom I assume was Post Malone?

I'll assume best intentions. Big shoes to try leaping into this year.

(I will say: Post Malone does seem like a genuine, sincere "star" personality, from what little I've seen of him. For better or worse?)

I thought he did a great job. I was moreso put off by Will Farrell's drumming in spots more than anything else :bag
I thought the guitar solo was pretty legit - in spite of the silly, "Let's prove how fun we are by having three guys play these trills on one guitar har." Because that's fitting during a tribute for a recently passed icon...

That guitar player who has been in everything with a fur coat and zerbra boots or wtfever has driven me nuts on everything Ozzy based thing he's shoehorned himself into as well.

I guess I'm going to have to watch the whole song, because somehow I can recall neither a fur coat nor zebra boots. Can you imagine shelling out for this shit and then not being noticed. :rofl

It's that producer (Andrew Freeman, iirc?) who has weaseled his way into everything Ozzy on these kinds of gigs the last few years. I am sure he's a genius but his vibe is not for me at all.
