How are things faring with the drive pedals through it? Sometimes ODs and especially distortion pedals will fight with the vibrato channel’s bright cap.

If things sound or feel weird, run the drives into the normal channel where there’s no bright cap.

The TS9 and CE-2 after trying both channels seem to be not affected by the bright cap. Things just sound brighter in Vibrato but nothing weird.

The DS-1 gets a little crispy on the Vibrato channel in comparison. More so on initial attack. Sounds a little weird. But also a bit more aggressive.

I didn’t realize that reverb also doesn’t work on the Normal channel. Thought it would have been just Vibrato. Anyways not a big deal.

Overall I think I still prefer the brighter Vibrato channel.

Nice! It’s definitely a personal taste thing and varies by pedal. If you find something you like better through the normal channel, you can use an AB box to basically channel switch. There are also mods to add the verb & tremolo to the normal channel if you find you want that. I’ve found I kinda dig having the bright channel set up with the verb and then switching over to normal with a pedal as a separate crunch/gain sound.

No idea about the difference between the n vs korn the C12

Fwiw at one point in time I also had the ‘68 RI DR and also a ‘65 RI twin reverb that I would imagine had similar if not the same speakers to what’s in your 65 DRRI and I had no objections to the speakers in either of those amps

My 78 SFDR has a V30 in it that was there when I bought it. I keep thinking about swapping it for a fat jimmy or Jupiter to get something more vintage correct, but it’s not been a priority.

Just ran through my set for this evening's solo guitar performance. I use the Henriksen Blu Six at home for practicing and messing with pedals, but usually use a venue backline amp or the PA for live performances for convenience and when there is a sound person. The Blu Six will stay home this evening. But I do use it on live sets when there is no backline, including at an auditorium gig a couple months ago filled to capacity with 120 people and I didn't have to turn it up beyond 12:00. I'll also be using it at an upcoming live jazz combo set at an outdoor street jazz festival. It's a good all purpose amp, 120W, 5 band EQ, reverb, Bluetooth, FX loop, line / speaker out, takes pedals well, and most of all punches way beyond its mere 12lbs. I sold all my much larger amps to get this one.

BTW, that's the guitar I'll use tonight, a 1970s Gretsch Chet Atkins "Super Axe," built for sustain with mahogany body and on-board 9v powered compressor. It also has an onboard phaser. And that's part of the board I'll use tonight that's already mounted in a hard shell case for easy setup.

Mine has a few light mods on it too from Super Fine Amps in Durham… it was as the touring amp for MC of Hiss Golden Messenger for a couple years (kind of a southern mysticism Americana band… kind of prominent as far as that niche genre goes lol)

After purchase I actually called the shop up to chat about the mods in detail… I don’t remember a lot of what he said but basically there’s a mid knob added to the back and a handful of cap changes that he referred to as “gray facing”… keeping certain “benefits” of the silver face era while switching over certain values to blackface values for tone

It’s all mostly Greek to me, but I do really enjoy the amp and it’s my go to for fill in gigs outside of my typical genre lol

The Uberschall is ridiculously overkill, and ridiculously awesome.
