What Amp Are You Playing Today?

Picked up all this in a trade yesterday and the big surprise to me is the Pro Jr. This thing is awesome. I honestly think I like it more than the Deluxe Reverb I just recently got rid of and I love how tiny it is. I was expecting it to sound really small because of the 10" speaker, which is also one of the reasons I avoided the Princeton, but it sounds GREAT. Still working through all the pedals right now, but the one thing I thought for sure I'd be selling off is so far looking like a keeper :rofl

People can crap on “modern” fender tube amps (like the non RI stuff I mean) all the like but there’s not a bad amp in the lineup imo. Especially if you’re doing pedal platform anyway

Honestly, the only thing this amp would need for me is reverb. It does sound great with that Paisley Drive as well.

My Deluxe Reverb had several issues, so I kinda get the people bashing on them, but it sounded great. If this has the reverb from it, it'd be perfect. Now I kinda want to try a Princeton, except I don't think I'd ever pay that much for one after getting this thing :rofl

Battle of the D clones!
I got the head early this year, turned out “D style” is “my amp”.
So decided to also get a combo.
Head is a handmade one by an unknown builder, all high Q components, 100w
Combo is a Fuchs, 30w

I had never compared them 1/1…they turn out to be scary close, the drive channels I couldn’t tell apart.
The clean channels…maybe I prefer the head..but it’s hard comparing with 10 sec in between to switch speaker cables. (Comparing through the same cab)

I captured the head, I’m not gonna bother with the combo..it’s too close ;)

A friend has been interested to buy this from me but I have some projects to finished. I believe it is from 2000.

Anyone have experience with the new production model?

A quick clip of the Red channel boosted with a King of Tone:

Everytime I setup and amp with the consideration of selling I have a real hard time committing. Surely this amps is not good enough to keep?

That sounds interesting - I want get a cab eventually (just for home use) and I’m kind of open to all options.

They discontinued these ones, but there's a current production one thats basically the same it just has a V30 instead

I'm also a fan of the thiele 1x12 :love although I think the widebody pairs best with the V and the thiele pairs best with the III and IV

Those mesa cabs are fine offcourse, but if you are not sure what you want, wouldn’t you be better of with something with a removable back so you can toggle between closed/open?
That would be cool, yes. The oversized cab sounds like it's up my alley though, if I were to get this I'd likely have some future plan to mod it so I can do such a thing lol.

Yeah, it’s easy enough to do yourself. And I just learned there’s not so many on the market with removable panels, at least not 1x12s.

I own an oversized (pine, brandless), half open, that does become bassheavy quick for my taste.
Same for Thieles btw. But, im not from the heavy department..so for others that might be even a pro.
