What Amp Are You Playing Today?

Henriksen Blu Six, my main amp these days, at home and on stage. It’s a 120w single channel combo, 9in cube, 12lbs, w/ a 5 band EQ, FX loop, & wireless aux input.

This pic is on stage a couple weeks ago, with my Kawai Moonsault guitar into a Mad Professor pedalboard, for a solo guitar gig in an auditorium at capacity of 120 people, w/ volume just below 12:00.

I’ve also used it with an archtop for outdoor gigs w/ a jazz quintet. And it’s a great pedal platform, too.

Those are great but they seriously don’t look good 🤣

I just powered down to go make dinner, but here is my recording setup. I’m considering grabbing a Synergy 50w head and grabbing a handful of modules as my one weak area is I edge of breakup tones. IIC+ is really my only option and I’d like just a touch more gain on that clean channel for what I want out of it.

Checking this excellent head out before my mate collects it to use at a family outdoor Easter BBQ .
He’s borrowed it for a few years now.

Today I get to experience a full (vertical) stack for the first time, previously I've always had both my cabs on the floor and never together.
I can adjust each cab volume individually via left/right from the poweramp to get a perfect blend for my taste at siting or standing position.
It is menacing both physically and sonically even at bedroom volumes.

There is nothing like a 4x12.

For tonight's gig I'll likely use my Mesa Subway D800+.
This afternoon I'll get a little practice in, I usually use my DSL20 head and 1960 cab.

Got me this amp last week, best combo I ever owned…I found “the one for me”. Both the clean as well as the drive channel hit my sweet spot.
I love those drive pedals…but the dirt channel simply sounds better to me.
Recently got me a Dumble clone head also…sound very simular, havent put them up head to head yet…one thing is certain…I’m gonna stick in the “clone camp” for a while. ;)

Been using the Mesa Mark V 90 for the past few days. Yesterday I hooked up the slave out to my BluGuitar poweramp and that worked nicely to adjust the balance between Mesa combo speaker vs 4x10.

I would have used the Fryette PS-100 but it's malfunctioning again. It works but there's a ton of hiss even with nothing connected. I'm guessing there is a cold solder joint or a failing component that for some reason worked before.

I'm still outta town for work, so mostly playing air guitar through my trustee air amp head. Works like a charm and toan is :chef.

Try using the Tuner out on the Mark. I've had better luck with that and it bypasses the Mark power amp.
