That’s the amp I’m playing most these days too.Multiwatt into V30s yesterday![]()
I was playing an Strat into the Raw and Pushed modes last night for a change of pace. I’ve been fooling around with P90s in Vintage mode, so that might be for tonight.

What guitar are you rocking with the P90s? I keep meaning to try my LP Special with my Recto. I bet it’s cool. That’s the amp I’m playing most these days too.

I have a Squier Cabronita Baritone Tele that I put Wolfetone P90s in. I’ve been happy plugging in guitars with all types of oddball pickups into the MW.Jeez guess it’s time to pull the Recto out of the basement. I didn’t know it was a party.

The ED is a beast! In both tone and weight!
Dang, man. I really want an Electra Dyne head. They are superb. My intention for tonight is to pull the Electra Dyne out and swap it with my EVH. No band practice until next week so I have some experimentation time, I want to try running the ED as a clean-ish pedal platform while using the FM9 for all the drives. Might be a good time to try using some amps as dirt pedals by disabling the cab/amp.
I don’t need the super tight aspects of the EVH for this band, boosted JCM800 territory will work just as well and might fill things out better.
Amp I have been using all week, straight in, no effects, MV 4, PA 7, and attenuated

I am SO curious how it will translate for you in a 2 guitar band mix. I found it a little thick---which
was great on its own---but with another guitar player wasn't "cutting" it for me. Pun intended.
Obviously, a lot of variables to consider, but I am curious how you will feel about it if you end up
trying it out at a rehearsal.
Plenty of volume on hand. Just wanted less low end and a but more upper mid bite.... because
my ears are wired for Marshalls.... apparently!![]()
I LOVE my tele with single coils through my revision G. The fatness of the amp offsets the thinner tone but the teles snap still comes through nice and aggressive.I have a Squier Cabronita Baritone Tele that I put Wolfetone P90s in. I started fooling around with the pairing after I saw some photos from the early 2000s Jerry Finn productions using P90 guitars, and those had featured Rectifiers in some capacity.
That and I can tolerate the noise of single coils through a Recto.
I think we’ve talked about this before, but the late 70s Silverface amps are such sleepers. People are catching on now but they are still a good deal especially if you have access to a competent tech.Haven't played an emp yet today but last night was time to bust out the trusty '76 deluxe reverb. Last time I rehearsed with this band I was just running HX dirt models in front as I didn't have any real dirt pedals on my board. Had much more fun last night with an SD-1 and SUF dire wolf hitting it![]()

What did you do for mods? I had mine recapped and converted the pull boost to a pull bright so I can toggle the bright cap. I may blackface it later this year, haven't decided. I'm almost certainly going to add a PPIV master to it.For sure, this one has relatively recently been recapped and some light mod work done by Superfine Ampworks in Durham. Bought it a few years back from Hiss Golden Messenger when they were here in CO on tour
I like it even more now that I swapped out the 90s jensen speaker that was in there with a creamback

That makes a lot of sense and is line with the direction I’m looking to go with mine if I mod it at all. It’s not uncommon for people to revert the phase inverter and some preamp values to blackface but leave the rectifier and power section alone. Switching these 70s models over to the blackface rectifier apparently produces ungodly high plate voltages that few 6v6s can handle. The mods were done prior to me as requested by the HGM dude when he was taking it out on tour, but after I bought the amp I called the shop up to chat about what they were specifically. Super cool guy, spoke for quite a while. There's an added knob on the back thats something of a mid frequency knob. It's fairly subtly but I like what it does. For the most part everything else he did he referred to "grayfacing" the amp. Changing certain values back to blackface spec, but not all of them. Don't remember the super specifics but he went into a great level of detail at the time of the what and why![]()
