Vintage Gibson refret ( again).

This week it’s a 1963 ES175 player grade in for 55090 frets and a general once over.

It’s a pretty good player grade with only a repaired crack to the head. Original finish and a nice straight neck. Pickups and electrics swapped out though.
This should actually be restored because the fundamentals are all there and the crack could be covered to look as though it never happened.
It cost less than a new one and is only going up.
Yes I do see a couple of vintage guitars a week on average and sometimes a lot more.

I was also shocked when I learned they stopped production. Also the L5 btw.
Such classics…but mostly populair amongst jazz players…and that isn’t exactly hitting the charts these days.

I kinda expected ES 175 used prices to skyrocket…but that hasnt happend yet. L5s went up quite a bit.

L5's used to be around 10K back in 2008 timeframe....I lusted after one for a while bust just missed a sale on an immaculate used guitar from a local jazzer for a "decent" price.
