And it's not even particularly exciting players - sure, great quality, but that's about it. Nothing new, let alone revolutionary about the concept. It's a plugin suite under one unified UI. Same as Amplitube, HXNative, Bias FX and what not.

I don’t disagree at all - it’s just bullshit youtube attention grabbing from desperate individuals trying to squeeze more from their channel.

Tbf to UA, they’re anything but a new player. They’ve been doing analog modelling emulations longer than almost all. Many of their models are the benchmark that all others are compared against. The FX aren’t quickly thrown together by an intern and all based on hype, it’s stuff that’s held its own for years.

It’s not game changing in the slightest, but we shouldn’t get distracted by youtubers and the hype machine. From what’s been shared so far, it looks like a great product - arguably more in tune for what customers want in a plugin than Line 6, NDSP, IK, or Fractal have put out. I have a few small things I’d like to see but for the intended sounds and models I’m actually not sure what I’d use over it.

For boomer amps and effects, this looks to be a solid collection where things should mix and match nicely. I like that UA don’t piss about with being vague on what they’re modelling. They’re really getting the vast majority right and avoiding many of the pitfalls others slip up on.

Curious what amps they’ll add for the inevitable fire breathing hellraiser plugin. 5150, Recto, SLO (?), 2203 (with various mods/versions), Orange, Diezel? Something like that would cover a lot of bases.

I like UA's amp modeling and their modeling of analog gear, so I think this is interesting. But of course nothing game changing.

I can't help but wonder if they’ll ever release a hardware equivalent—an all-in-one box with all their amp models and guitar-related FX. That could be great. And before the replies that usually come whenever such a product is mentioned: yes, UA could absolutely mess such a product up with unnecessary limitations, etc. But they could also make something great.

It's good, for sure. I really doubt they’ll ever release an all in one, since people seem willing to continually fork over $399 for one amp, no effects.

Looks cool and a great way to upsell more ampsims and keep people hugged into their own ecosystem.
Been waiting for NDSP to do the same honestly. Sell a host vst to better mix and match plugin modules and even have access to cortex cloud for captures.

UA has not really put out new pedals this year, so maybe they feel the market is saturated. Apart from Hiwatt, they've covered the most liked amp types for the people who use pedals the most, the blues, classic rock etc players.

The Knuckles and Anti were likely their tries at courting the high gain fans, but I think those are often also the more tech-savvy types who prefer more complex modelers - and remember, even a Tonex One is more complex.

They probably see the challenges with component pricing, NO POLITICS etc for making a full-blown multifx unit so instead they decide to test the waters with "suite" plugins. I think those could lead to more "hey, why not pack this into a multifx hardware unit" requests. Or maybe they are working on a hardware version but that's more complex than repackaging plugin code into a container plugin, so it'll take a longer time to come out.
