Universal Audio Paradise Guitar Studio

Just installed the demo, boomer heaven!
The sound quality seems top notch. Heaps of the presets they've gone a bit too OTT with room reverb but easy enough to tame.
It seems like if you like anything from clean to crunch to 80s rock they've got you covered but not much in the modern world.

If this had some proper high gainers in there like the 5150, Soldano and Mesa I'd buy it.
I can only assume they wont just add those to this plugin, it'll probably be something separate or paid extras down the line.

I'm absolutely sure this would be a welcomed addition to my arsenal as the indivdual plugins are all great, but I'll be waiting for whatever sale. I'm absolutely sure you can grab the entire thing for 50-70 somewhen next year without a subscription. Plugin prices are on a steep decline and I don't think it'll stop too soon (if at all).

List of the Amps and EFX (?) :)
Heres the Amps + FX. Same FX can be used pre or post the amp/cab.
The amps/cabs have room reverb and the gate is in the UI as well.

That's definitely a good set of "boomer effects" covering all the major food groups. Maybe you could argue that not having a Bluesbreaker, treble booster or more fuzz options are omissions.

But if the amp models have the same features as the individual plugins, then you have their boost options to work with.

$79+Tax feels a bit much to me, given I own all other UA plugins, as the remaining Dumble isn’t really an amp I can get excited about.

Plugin looks good overall, $49 or less would have been an instant buy.

Looks like you can’t use the cabs on their own which is a bit of a shame. Can imagine it would be cool to run real amps into or mix and match other modellers.

Also IMO that tuner needs to include strobe mode

I think it's priced based on "you bought the amp sims, now you get a few more plus fx on top". I do agree that they could offer a bit better deal for those who already own some of the fx offered in other plugins.

UA really doesn't want to allow you to use their cab sims on their own. Would probably show that they just aren't that special IMO.

I really hate how that is not a feature of almost any plugins. Often the tuner seems like a total afterthought where the tracking is a bit shit ec.

I think the price is fine. You could probably get away with charging more, so I see it as fair play.

But the plugin holds very little interest for me. I tried the individual amp sims (somehow I got them when I registered my Golden Reverberator pedal) and they're only okay in my opinion. We've got much better options in both software and hardware land.

Their user interfaces could look a lot better, but the workflow is pretty decent. These are definitely set-and-forget type plugins that don't need too much faffing around to get good sounds out of. I'd imagine that this one is much the same.

I dunno.... UA just generally don't excite me much anymore.

It’s an IK style money grab. Imagine the people who paid close to $150 a pop for the amp sims individually and then are being asked to pay more again to use them here vs a new customer getting it all for $150. I have the RAT, Big Muff, TS, MXR Flanger, 140 etc too which so far have only been available on DSP.

There’s a few nice things here and the implementation seems more slick than Amp Room, Amp Hub, Ampbox, Amp Locker, Amplitube etc. With the Ampbox, I basically just use the standalone Marshall plugins on their own. If I want to use the ENGL, I just dumb the plugin down to being just the amp. It’s so slow and sluggish to use that unless the software is really slick, I just treat them as “amp only” and add plugins externally to do what I need. The same is mostly true for Amplitube and Amp Box for me, most of the time I’ll just keep it simple and avoid dicking around in the plugin.

I think UA have done the GUI slightly better, in that it looks quick to use. But yeah, happy to wait this one out - money for old rope means there’s not too much new content here.

Solid boomer tones here

James knows his stuff. There's some really good general tone and style tips in here even if a lot of the fx are redundant if you've got other UA stuff and the amp selection is very limited. The ambient pad is really cool.

It's almost like they took the most requested non-metal guitar tones from the internet era and slapped together a plugin that can cover them - EVH/Edge/Mayer/SRV/Hendrix/Cobain/Corgan/Mason/Marr etc

Boomer-core but it would also be good for a lot of modern Indie stuff too.

Agree that it's a bit much for existing owners.

Ha yeah, the boomer comment was somewhat in jest (although Dumble aside all the amps are from before 1970!). James is the man and is pretty perfect to demonstrate the plugin.

Plenty of digital delays, digital reverbs, pitch shifting, klon, novels which are more modern. I always dug UA’s Rams Head Muff and RAT.

I’m sure it can pull off a lot of 80’s and 90’s indie well, although a few more fuzz types and some weirder less conventional curveball fx would have been nice to throw in. Think I can get closer to those tones using the standalone UA sims with other plugins.

Do you guys feel the amp sim feel/sound is "game changing"?
Since day 1 I tried the Dream pedal.

As expected, core tones are always amazing. Sounds and feels great, zero friction. A tad less flexible than I expected. I wish there was more options for mic'ing especially.

The amp/effect selection reminds me a lot of the Eleven Rack. I sure miss some kind of high gain amp, but these days is not something I use that regularly.

Ironically this is perfect for me for recording, but it came out when I'm in a all time low as far as recordings gigs goes due to AI. :brick
