...is apparently going to be released tomorrow.

I think this is what today's 'rant' video from Henning was about. He claims it's a huge step forward for amp sim plugins.

Nice! Probably an insta buy for me but curious to see what’s included. I don’t mind things being broken out as their own plugins but if it contains their dumble, 5150 and recto I’ll be thrilled. Looks like they still haven’t expanded their cab engine. I guess it’ll just take users to bombard UA’s CS to work on that.

Good thing with individual positions is there is no BS with MPT, normalisation or interpolation taking away from the intended sound.

First time I really got excited about a release in a long long time... Until I noticed it's a plugin. Still very likely an instant buy for me. Glad I only got strings this Black Friday. Still hoping for a hardware.

It'll be all in one.

I'm betting $150... cheaper according to how many amps you already own.

Included in Spark subscriptions.

If it’s a container plugin I’m in.

Their amp plugs are really nice, but needing to stack multiple pre and post effects plugs is a PITA. Being able to mix and match everything would be awesome if it includes the Golden, Starlight, Galaxy, DelVerb algos etc plus whatever UA native effects you already own.

Knowing UA, I’ll remain cautiously optimistic while waiting for the catch. :ROFLMAO:

Pro’s and cons with container plugins.

- Automating fx can get really annoying (either long lists of parameters, weird names for them, having to assign controls to macros, among others)
- often internal fx benefit from their own presets. If there are standalone versions of the same fx ideally the presets would match
- you’re tied to only the included fx. As soon as you need to integrate any outside effect, almost all of the benefits of routing and building patches go out the window. Can imagine UA have a nice selection of their FX in there, but I bet things like the RMX16, 480L and many others probably won’t be there.
- a DAW can inherently do way more complex routing with easier automation and better external control. Think of something like the Space Echo that has the delay and reverb with their own pan control. That implies a mono in->stereo output. Dealing with all your routing inside an amp sim can get messy.
- a deeper container plugins often involves more clicking around, and invariably a lot more modules that never get used than ones that do (anyone who’s used Amplitube can think about how much of the internal modules get used)

I totally get the appeal, but more often than not I think the dream of a container plugin is way better than the reality. I think UA are quite aware of the pro’s and cons and I hope they’ve done a good stab at it. The last few years have seen them try to expand their audience which has meant a lot of things have been dumbed down. My main concern is they’ll try to dumb down this plugin too much (seeing the customise circuit button above is encouraging though!).

Tuner looks a bit underwhelming to me, not enough there to stop me using LockOn instead. Similarly the cab engine looks simple and maybe not enough to stop me using something else.

“Paradise” Seems to suggest a collection of amps and gear rather than a full suite of everything. I guess that makes sense, and the heavier plugins will have their own suite later on. Just annoying having to wait longer for the recto and 5150.

Urgh. A 25-minute advert. He's a good player but there is nothing game-changing here. I will wait and see what the price is going to be, but a lot of companies sell suites with more stuff at good prices. If the plugin contains all their amp sims and FX, then fair enough. But I bet it won't. And I bet there will be a lot of extra stuff that will require extra payment to access.

concept doesn’t seem bad at all. It’s something akin to an Archetype or Metallurgy, but with more freedom to reposition things, and more amps and fx to choose from. I actually really like the fact it doesn’t have high gain amps thrown in - they can have their own plugin with their own benefits.

For boomer amps and effects, this looks to be a solid collection where things should mix and match nicely. I like that UA don’t piss about with being vague on what they’re modelling. And they do their homework on sourcing the right amps, the right mods, the right cabs, the right look. They’re really getting the vast majority right and avoiding many of the pitfalls others slip up on.

Curious what amps they’ll add for the inevitable fire breathing hellraiser plugin. 5150, Recto, SLO (?), 2203 (with various mods/versions), Orange, Diezel? Something like that would cover a lot of bases.

Looks pretty nice as a plugin that does a lot, but doesn't try to be too much at once.

Having the amp available at the bottom at all times is nice so you can tweak the amp and fx in tandem. I wish hardware units had this.

Will have to see what the pricing looks like.
