well.. i went to gc today with the intent to get strings.

i got this too. ive been looking for a more flexible overdrive that works better from the volume knob thatd lemme get lower gain sounds on any amp. this is the beast. amazing amazing control with the volume knob on the guitar that can swing super easily between clean, edgy breakup stuff and full bore classic OD sounds. it wont do modern high gain, but neither do i.

super mid present and has the bogner thing goin on.. so it just sings into feedback with enough volume. what a cool piece of gear.

apparently it has a rupert neve designed transformer in it. ultimately- dont care whats IN it, but its a fantastic front end into the low brow solid stater i practice with, and i cant wait to throw it into the reeves or my mark iib! its a serious divergence from both.

hunnet bux!

I’ve got one of these and never used it a great deal. I should spend more time with it….

i just plugged it in as a boost for my iib and omg. no gain at all- just a boost and eq into a barely breaking up lead channel.
:love
it absolutely just sounds ridiculous on the reeves into an alnico speaker as well.

what i really love about it though is that it must level out impedance because the rolloff on the guitar volume knob is AMAZINGLY gradual... gain is SO controllable- unlike the mesa, which doesnt do that. so i can set it up too gainy and ride it with no sonic penalty. it reminds me of a way better SHOD with bass and treble.

so far.. yeah man. MP bust that thing out!

Interesting, I’ll have to check that out. This one wasn’t on my radar at all. The Greer Lightspeed is my current go-to for all the things you mentioned, but I’m always interested in checking out something new

its VERY bogner- so its got THAT sorta midrange, which i think some folks like and some folks dont. it has a very different feel than my normal blackface fender/hiwatt grain, which is super fun.

but i do haveta say- it really is fun to be able to modulate softer dirt tones so easily. but its cool cause it also seems to put you more in the guitar frequencies that youd use in big arrangements- whichd likely be great for you if you like what it does!
